not really. unlike these half-assed fanbases today, C's fan stand by their team. and the 80% comment is a joke. theres more 70yr old fans than 20-30yr old ones

The NBA and ESPN need the Bristol Celtics to be successful. They put in so much resources to bring the marquee name back that nothing less then the finals will be acceptable, and i can't see them not making it. We'll see if the lakers can make it out the west

I've lurked on the Celtics board for months now and other fans are treated with respect for the most part as long as they have something intelligent to say and aren't trolls. Every fan base has some fans who are disrespectful so they shouldn't be judged on a few bad apples. I've been on other Celtics boards as well, and don't notice much arrogance.

It is amazing how people claim they've been bad for 20 years. They won 50 or more games almost every season through the Bird era and 48 the year after he retired. They won 57 one year. I've seen many people make this claim, and it's such an exaggeration.

For real NBA fans I do not think it matters if it's Hornets/Pistons or Lakes/Celtics. However I think a lot of non NBA fans will tun in for Celtics/Lakers because it is such a historical rivalry of the 80's. I mean what they won 9 rings between them from 79 to 88 right?
