SeattleSun is factually correct, though. We DO need to find a way to win despite unavailable players. If we cannot do that, there is no chance that we will have one of those with a '2008' inscribed on the sides.

We're losing on purpose to get Houston in the first round

Obviously, yes, that's the other side of the general situation with the team. I was just commenting on part of why we didn't play that well vs. the Lakers.

Pretty much took the words out of my mouth.

Well if Manu is not productive we will not get out of the 1st round... it is that simple.

Amen to that. He's our guy this year. If he's not on, we're not going anywhere.

Only one word comes to mind for this year regardless of win or loss. Upgrades.

Even after the championship last year, I knew we needed fixing.

We need youth, we need size.

Who can we offer to Portland for Oden?

I wanted to see us get involved with Brandon Bass last summer... undersized PF, but very agile, solid, wide body, tough, skilled on both sides of the court. I felt bad for him in New Orleans not getting any PT.

Isn't Okafor a FA this year? He'd be a good pickup.

Yeah, that was a fun comment by Kobe

I would adore that. But he's looking for serious money... would have to sign for the MLE, and coming onto the Spurs would make up for the extra money.
