Would New Orleans rather face Denver or Dallas?
Assuming Denver takes care of business against Memphis, tomorrow nights game between the Mavs and 'Bees will decide the 7th/8th seeds.
Hornets win, they face 7th seeded Denver in round 1.
Hornets lose they get 7th seeded Dallas.
Hornets were 2-1 against the Nuggets this year, but haven't played them since January 28th.
A Hornets loss to Dallas will even the season series at 2-2.
A Hornets win combined with a Nuggets loss will give Dallas the 7th seed, but a 1-3 record vs. New Orleans this season.
Which team do you think they match-up better with?
I think they would rather take on Denver, but I'm curious to see if they go all out in the final game now that they have the 2nd seed locked up.
Thoughts?

I thought about this a lot, and I'm really not sure, I would favor us in either series, but I wouldn't be surprised if we lost either.
I think I would take the Mavs, just based on how well Chris has done against them, and against Kidd.
Then again, they might be a much tougher match up, they won't want to be ousted in the first round twice, and Denver has a lot of guys hungry to taste the second round.
I think it's a tough match up either way, hopefully we can get our playoff growing pains out of the way, and get to round 2.

The Hornets would trounce Denver, I didn't think so a few weeks ago but the top of the West and certainly started to distance itself from the lowest seed.
David West is balling right now, the Nuggets seem to be falling apart right now.
Not to mention Dallas is playing good basketball.
I would love to see the Hornets face the Nuggets personally, but I don't see Dallas losing and forcing themselves to play the Lakers in the first round.

Dallas has no answer for CP3 since we traded Devin. Denver matches up well
Chandler.......Camby
West.............Martin/Najera
Peja..............Anthony
MoPete..........Smith
Paul...............Iverson
Then it comes down to experience and I would pick Denver over Hornets.
That said, I think NOH would prefer to play Dallas

I don't think it'd be much of an upset.
Considering New Orleans has played at a consistently higher level and the teams are five seeds apart, it's safe to say that's not accurate.
Dallas WOULD have a solid chance, though, and NO (and every other team in the West) would LOVE to play Denver.

Hornets played pretty bad basketball against Denver in 2 of the 3 games.
First game Denver blew a decent lead late in the 4th.
Second game Denver cruised and won.
Third game in New Orleans the Hornets blew them out.
Not sure who i'd rather face. Greg Popovich pretty much defined the 08 Western Playoffs by saying "There are no 1 seeds and there are no 8 seeds. Every team thats coming this year is scary."
