Just play Bosh straight up. Make sure we keep Dwight in the paint...even if it means Hedo and Shard taking turns on him. Bosh will get his anyway. Stop the other Raptors getting their points and just contest Bosh...In a series this will wear him out.
As for us, Hedo and Shard hold the key to this series for us.

I doubt you guys can really stop Bosh, I don't think you have the personnel to do it. Similarly for us D12 will get his, and we'll probably have to put him on the line by using our fouls generously.
This game won't come down to the 2 stars, it'll come down to the supporting cast and whoever plays the stronger D.

NJ was Bosh's toughest matchup last year in the regular season too, not just in the playoffs. They had excellent personel to stop him:
A) An excellent off the ball defender in Jason Kidd. Kidd was trapping Bosh, doubling, having his hands in the lane everytime Bosh touched teh ball. He id a great job of being the second man.
B) Two very good big man defenders in Jason Collins and Mikki Moore

There's certainly something to be learned from the series against the Nets, but that might not be as helpful as people think. Bosh was extremely tentative in that game. By games 4 and 5 he started figuring things out. It doesn't help that CB4 always likes to play against Dwight. You guys will have to double Bosh and let others make plays. Do not let Dwight guard him one on one.

Just like Dwight did last year
*sigh*
Why bring up the past? I'm not going to make any argument here, but it was Dwight's first playoff series, let alone the fact that he was playing a superior Detroit team. You could see in his body language he just looked so uncomfortable, which would explain his horrible FT shooting.
This year I think he'll be more comforable. He has a much better team, supporting cast, and he has made strides of developement too.
You guys shouldn't take Dwight lightly, as we shouldn't take Bosh lightly.

I dont get the "choke" talk about either player. It's (Please Use More Appropriate Word). They were two young players in their first playoff series facing very tough matchups (Dwight against a dominant Detroit team and Bosh against an NJ team that gave him all kinds of trouble in the regular season). They had some good and bad games during the series'.

Same with Dwight. His only "typical" game was game 4, and by then it was too late. Just like Bosh he tends have big games against the Raps.

I agree, Lewis on bosh is a good matchup, Better than Dwight IMO becuase lewis is out on the perimitor anyways, If dwight was on him bosh would make him step out and that would take our only rebounder out of the post. 4 Some reason i just have alot of confidence that bosh wont go off for 30+ with lewis sticking him.. If bosh starts to Flex those toothpick's he calls arms and thinks he can back lewis down in the post D12 is there for help. Ps Dwight will Defile Rasho's Wife on the other end of the floorSolid Snake wrote:Lewis on Bosh is actually much, much better for the Magic. Everyone had said Lewis was such a bad defender, and then this season, he isn't a bad defender at all. He is extremely long arms and anticipates fairly well. Getting overpowered is the concern, but Bosh is not big enough.

I have just finished watching my 4th random Raps game from this season...if the Magic were smart they would play the full press in the 2nd half of these games. Not college flail press, but actual man up press staying with the assignment, and only switching to double team in the block on Rasho, Bargs and whoever else they bring in at the 5 and only doing this when the Raps sag the perimeter for a cut (Moon, Parker, Jose, TJ) taking shooters off the line, which they seem to do regularly to work give and gos with Bosh...
pressing the man seems to throw them off of their scheme quite a bit, and allowing Bosh to play one on one while doubling down their other bigs, seems to work pretty effectively.
guys like Evans and Dooling will be very effective playing the high pressure game...

I wouldn't mind seeing that. We haven't seen much full court press from the Magic at all this year, so it would be a nice change up. I'm sure SVG has some plan to defend Bosh and keep him in check.
I think we'll all kill ourselves if Bosh gets 40 on 14-16 shooting..

I'm fine with that, as long as we win the games and the series.

the Double teams on Rasho and Bargs with the opposing center and a smaller help defender seem to be VERY effective. It's not clear as to whether or not Dwight will play their 5's or guard Bosh. Based on what I have watched over the last 2 days, stick Dwight on their 5 and only double their bigs unless they get the opportunity to trap a guard high or something...it's a very effective scheme...
I say dont double Bosh at all, they are just like the Magic in this area, and we know what happens when their #1 gets doubled...
Rasho, Bargs and Humphs are not capable of working out of the double like Bosh is...
