No question. Trading for role players is the last thing this team needs to do. We need to find a way to add that talent better than Redd/Bogut. If we can do that with the #7 pick and other pieces, so be it, otherwise you use it in the draft and see what you can get there.

For a non-contending team that is still a couple years away at least from contending, nothing would be a worse idea than trading a lottery pick for a role player. Nothing.

I don't want a role player either. Boston traded their lottery pick plus a couple players last year for Ray Allen. Don't you think we could get a player like Baron Davis/Antwan Jamison/Elton Brand for our lottery pick with other players involved?

Possibly, but lets look at those three guys:

1. Jamison: would have to be a sign and trade, since Jamison is a FA. Does Washington want to break up the Arenas/Jamison/Butler core if they do sign him? Unlikely.

2. Brand: could opt out anyway, in which case it would have to be a sign and trade, but if he doesn't, would have to be resigned by the Bucks to make the trade worth it

3. Davis: same as Brand

All true. But I myself just think that if we get a guy in here who demands respect as a player and is also very talented that we would be better next year than if we get another mid-lottery pick in here.
