The official WE WILL GET OUT OF THE FIRST ROUND THREAD

Post#1 » by tmacformvp07 » Wed Apr 16, 2008 5:02 pm

now mods before you ban this thread read it first.

this is where all the nba playoff talk will go, instead of having each thread seperately on each series.

post all your predictions and comments here

as of now, the east has been set in which the matchups look like this

[1]Boston vs [8]Atlanta
BOSTON IN 4

[2]Detroit vs [7]Philadelphia
DETROIT IN 6

[3]Orlando vs [6]Toronto
ORLANDO IN 6

[4]Cleveland vs [5]Washington
WIZ IN 7

On the west side, the match up are yet to be determined, but after tonight everything should become very clear.

as of right now these are the match ups and it is 75% likely that these won't change. Lakers and Hornets have already clinched the 1 and the 2 spot so they won't be going lower than what they are now. Seeding 3-6 is very tricky but we should let the NBA worry about that, and 7-8 seems unlikely to change because both teams should like the matchups.

[1]Lakers vs [8]Denver
DENVER IN 7

[2]Hornets vs [7]Dallas
DALLAS IN 6

[3]San Antonio vs [6]Phoenix
Phoenix IN 7

[4]Houston [5]Jazz
HOUSTON IN 7

Boston in 4, Detriot in 4, Toronto in 6, Wiz in 6

Lakers in 5, Hornets in 6, the others cannot be decided until today....you should of waited tmac ;) We may even face the Suns or Spurs...

Spurs in 6 if they face us, Jazz in 7 if they face us, and Rockets in 7 vs Suns. Although anything can happen, the sad thing is, I'm being realistic with these. :(

Huh? You should rename this thread as: "How will we get out of the first round".

LOL we hope. I hope. But I think we all would be lying if we didn't realize that there is a 90% chance that it won't happen for us this year.

i would believe even if we had 0.00001% chance of advancing.

i know with the injury to rafer alston, things are not looking good but it is what is.

we should that we can compete with the best of them after yao went down and i certainly hope that the team gels together again and tries their damned hardest to win.

if the rockets play as hard as they can and pour their heart and soul into each game and lay it all on the line, then as a fan that's all you can ask for.

here's to an amazing first round series, and pray to the team that we are going to be up against, the rockets time is NOW.

We don't know who we'll face, the Jazz seem likely but so do the Suns and I saw somewhere that we have a chance at somehow playing SA as well too. Let's just not embarrass ourselves is all I ask, I honestly don't expect us to advance, but there's still some hope I guess...

You should re-name the title, since you said yourself it's a general playoff thread of other series, not us.

Not gonna happen.

Doesn't matter if it's Jazz, Suns or Spurs.

It is not going to happen.

Hummm Wiz in 7? I hope so but don't know the chances of that happening. If the Wiz are all healthy then, no doubt, but Jamison, Arenas and Stevenson are all hobbling. The west is no cake. Other than SA and the Suns advancing, I think every other matchup is going to be close.

Sorry, but I've watched the Raptors play and they suck. Not saying much since they're in the East and everyone over there has a chance of making the playoffs. D.Howard is good but I think it will be Hedo that puts them over the raptors. He's having a great year and I don't see anyone on Toronto being able to guard him. If they double or Hedo misses, D. Howard will clean up the glass, which will be very demoralizing for the Raptors. If they don't win 1 of the 1st two games, I think the Magic will sweep them. =/

I guess you can say i went on a limb goin wit da wiz..but i seen them play this year..they may be a bit banged up but theres more of a TEAM there than in cleveland..thats king james and no1 else.

The wiz will take it in 7..and yes da west is no cake..honestly anything could happen..so people BELIEVE..the rockets can win even if it takes a miracle
