Is there an amount that a team (Philly or Memphis) could offer Biedrins that the Warriors would find very hard to match (having to re-sign Ellis, Davis picking up his option, Foyle still counting against the cap, etc.)?

Perhaps force the Warriors to explore sign and trade options?

With Brandan Wright in the wings....would they match a 14 million dollar a year contract offer for Biedrins? Assuming the Grizzlies could move a player to create the necessary room. They are currently projected to have 12 million.

I was asking because I'm thinking we will miss out on Rose/Beasley which might make Mayo our choice in the draft. With Conley, Jr./Mayo/Gay all we'd really need is a solid defensive frontcourt player that isn't a liability on offense, can get up and down the floor with these guys.

Biedrins would be a dream in that scenario.

How could take that shrimp at 4 with all the forward talent in that draft? Jeez..What a reach.

Biedrens is a tremendous talent but unfortunately I'm not sure that the FO recognizes it so it is possible that something might be done but I or most of the knowledgeable fans here do not want to see that. There's not much that I think that Memphis has to offer that would really make it worthwhile to us considering where we might be without B, pretty much in the same position as you are, in search of a solid big man (which btw, the Warriors have had very little success in obtaining for a great many years). I do appreciate you recognizing what he has to offer, however you will get a lot of resistance from the fans here, of course this doesn't mean the FO sees it the same way.

Memphis now is labeled "easy".... so it will be near impossible to trade their players away and not get player back. So how are they going to free up money. See Pau Gasol.

Phil has their own issue to deal with. They will have to throw mega millions on Iggy first. When it is done, are they willing to max out on Biedrins? Doubt it.

Either way, Warriors have better options in trading players away to free up money for both then Memphis/Philly trying to offer big money to AB.

Will the Grizz sale be complete by the offseason? If not I have a hard time taking seriously any max contract offer scenario from them. They are not in the running IMO.

Only one GM was worse than Wallace when he was hired... and that guy got axed in Milwaukee...

I love Beans but I cant see how Tay isn't the most important Warrior... Rarity = value, and Beans sure is a great talent - but exactly how many people in the NBA are anywhere near Tay's speed?

Because of the uniqueness, I'll give it to Tay... Wright's my #2 over Biedrins, because of his offensive prowess... 3 beans, 4 Jack...

i've said it before and i'll say it again. If Baron leaves and we don't get a PG with point guard instincts (not Monta), we are going to be a .500 team at best. When it comes down to it, Monta is a great scorer and probably an above average passer. I've seen him pass well enough on the pick and roll to give him a pat on the back...but i'm sorry..that doesn't make you a PG. He is lighting quick and can get to the rack...if teams sleep on him. But if he's going to be the "dominant" PG on the floor, teams are going to focus in on him and frankly, he doesn't have the ball-handling, strength, or center of gravity to run the show in the 4th quarter against a lock-down defense. I've seen him get shutdown before. I don't think he can be a primary scoring option or franchise player...he needs a superstar talent (guard) next to him. The special thing that Baron, CP3, and Deron have that I don't think Monta will ever have is their ability to break down a defense with more than just their speed. Monta is a lot like Gilbert, without the 3-ball... both undersized shooting guards but probably the two fastest in the NBA.

Now...put Gilbert NEXT to Monta..(2 Dominant guards)...and it might work... idk about the defense though...

We have the highest scoring guard combo (and probably the most dangerous) in the league and we want to break that up when our real problem is at the Power Forward which practically everyone has acknowledged since last since (except maybe Nellie) just because a few of us are pissed off at Baron.
