Raptors braintrust at Bulls game...

Post#2 » by Test of Wills » Thu Apr 17, 2008 3:15 am

Raptors scout Maja Ujiri and Gheradini were at the game including Bryan Colangelo and Larry Tanenbaum. I wonder if they noticed our rebounding woes or Sam's bad x's and o's during this game even if it never ment anything. Do you guys think Ujiri and other scouts like Jim Kelly are responsible for some of the gameplan against Orlando?

Ujiri is not Assistant GM. He is Director of global scouting.

However it's slightly odd how raptors.com hasn't been updated since last summer. http://www.nba.com/raptors/news/mlsel_management.html

He seems to be an Assistant GM as well as the Director of Global Scouting (With particular attention paid to Africa)

I think the point is that everybody scouts North America. Having Mauricio gives you an advantage in Europe, giving us an edge over other teams, and having Ujiri gives you an advantage in Africa, giving us an edge over other teams.

This is the theory, at least.

Apparently, Americans don't like to play in Canada. So we got really offended like typical Canadians and decided to say, screw the Americans.

Scary thought. I've never been a big Jim Kelly fan. Could be wrong, but in the GG days when they televised the draft "war room", didn't Jim Kelly keep pushing for crappy players?

Maybe I'm remembering it wrong.
