66 wins!

Post#1 » by Celtsfan1980 » Thu Apr 17, 2008 3:05 pm

It seems like teams are always avoiding 66 wins. Correct me if I'm wrong, but are the Celtics the first team to win 66 games in a season?
Celtics:66,67,68 wins.
Lakers:65,67,69 wins.
Bulls:67,69,72 wins.
76ers:65,68 wins.
Mavericks:67 wins.

I enjoy reading about the history of basketball. I find stats like that interesting.

Why would they avoid it? Having 66 or 65 wins has no merit on their seeding anyways...

if you flip 66 upside down and put it in front of a mirror you get 99. thats Wayne Gretzky's number. and he was the great one. could the Celtics be the next great one??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????/

No. Because although Wayne Gretzky is the great one, he is the great one in hockey, not basketball. So therefore you take Jordan's number of 23 and minus it from 66 and you get 43. That's two less of 45 which was the number Jordan rocked for just less than a year. Bad karma if you ask me.

I'm not saying they avoid it on purpose, but they do avoid it.

66 wins... and to think:

B-O-S-T-O-N = 6 letters
C-E-L-T-I-C = 6 letters
P-I-E-R-C-E = 6 letters

yikes!!

I'll take 66 wins anyday though ;)

Maybe that is just a sly way of letting people know that he made a deal with the devil.

How about:

G-A-R-N-E-T (lets face it the other T is useless)

R - A-L-L-E-N

It's scary when you think about it...
