Wow... 24 minutes

Post#1 » by 3-Pt_Shooter » Thu Apr 17, 2008 11:31 pm

24 minutes was more than even I expected for JJ. And, he more than made good use of those minutes. 18 points (4 threes), 4 rebounds and 3 assists. I'm telling all of you Magic fans that don't like him or think he's a best you're in for a big slice of humble pie in a couple of years.

You won't find many players in the Orlando Magic's locker room that are more popular than J.J. Redick. His female fans love his good looks, and many times they can be found arguing over them: is he more Tom Cruise or Luke Perry? His male fans love watching him shoot that dead-eye jumper that made him a legend at Duke. They stand to their feet in anticipation every time he gets the ball; it's almost like watching Dwight Howard dunk in the open court. Unfortunately this year has been frustrating for both Redick and his fans, as he only appeared in 33 games, but over the Magic's last two games he gave everyone a glimpse at what's to come. He's not there yet but when he gets playing time you better watch out, this guy can play.

Tom Cruise has nothing on JJ.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

The fact that in no sentence of your post was "no homo" written worries me.

Any one else getting the idea that this guy may be JJ's boyfriend? Just a first instinct synopsis of this thread. Worried?

So, no one has a reasonable opinion about JJ's performance against the Wizards I guess... Look, its simple, when given the chance to play at least 15 minutes in a game he has very impressive stats. Anyone want to share your thoughts about this topic?

But if you fine Magic fans want to continue to having fun at my expense go right ahead.

Actually quite a few people since it has been posted twice. If a certain poster had noticed then he wouldn't have started this thread since it's just a repeat of another thread.
BTW in about an hour 800 people had read this article at its site at HoopsWorld.
So someone should have read the other thread before starting what is a really needless extra thread about JJ.

Ah, the truth comes out!

Seriously though, it's just that you're like the anti-richboy.

richboy will act like he's the worst player in the history of the league, while you'll act as if the opposite is the case.

Personally, I'm somewhere in the middle, as I imagine most people are.

The fact that you wear your admiration for Redick 'on your sleeve', coupled with the fact that you seem to only be a "player fan" on a board full of die-hard Magic fans, and, well...

You know, in fairness to Redick a case can be made that he is our 5th best player, but do to his weaknesses being overall team weaknesses he gets to ride the pine. I mean offensively the kid is a stud! He can get his shot and if he doesn't he is a great passer. He has a high offensive BB IQ, and would give the starting five yet another terrific ball handler between him, Hedo, and Meer. The only real thing Evans has going for him is his athleticism. He does not rebound, block shots, steal the ball, or shoot particularly well:crazy: . Anyway, I think giving up on him is a mistake and if we could have some bigs to help out Shard JJ could get more burn.

Well, I certainly don't think that he's the best player in the league... But he definitely isn't the worst player either. I just get frustrated with those people who bash JJ and seem to minimize or make excuses for any positive signs that he shows as a developing player.

Truth be told I live on the West Coast and am a huge Laker fan. Can't wait for the playoffs to start this weekend too. It should be interesting to see how things develop for both teams.

A FG% 48.9 isn't particularly well?
How about the 39.6% beyond the arc?

I guess we all have different standards of what shooting well is ...

My opinion the past two seasons has always been that Redick could be a starter in this league. At the very least, he has a chip on his shoulder and something to prove, and on the rare occasion that he has gotten extended minutes with the reserves, he seems to run the show out there.

I doubt he'll be back with us, but I believe he'll be in the league for quite awhile.

Facts are stubborn things I guess, he happens to have a great shooting percentage. He almost shoots 40% from 3 pt land and is a great dunker.

OMG JJ one of our top 5 players?

JJ a starter?

WTH is going on here...Are we watching the same player?

Yes he can shoot...But he cannot do anything else on an NBA level

Our coaches are not idiots...They do know what they are doing

Maybe one day, far far away he will become a role player...But i dont see him ever being an important piece on a winning team

Return to Orlando Magic
