I would, but I don't have sig rights thanks to Winnerpeg or whatever his name is and his Hitler like approach to the sig policy, in which one of his Mods (who made me a sig in the sig forum) that I used, that I guess was too big and was off by one number...
I had no idea it was to big, nor did I think a mod in the sig forum would make me a thread that was too big..Otherwise, I would have just asked them to shorten it..
Yet, Winnerpeg is pretty set in his sucky ways...
In short, I would make that bet, but I can't...
Who do we realistically want to face in the first round?

Thanks gflem. While I disagree that the Cavs will win the series, I can understand why you feel that the Cavs will beat the Wizards. Having the home court advantage helps and while I think that Stevenson can at least slow down Lebron, I realize that LeBron also gets the benefit of a lot of superstar calls. I still think the Wizards are deeper this year, are better defensively this year, and have more firepower than the Cavs. I guess we will just have to see how it plays out. May the best team advance.

No one's going to man up, huh? I thought so.
I for one dont really mind the letravel thing. without it there would be no lewhiners, so I am all for letting it go on. I thought prune juice was quite funny as well. BUT, before outlaw got his stripes, there was a LOT of garbage going on, and while clever trash talk can be entertaining most of the garbage wasnt nearly clever.
So when visitors come here and complain about Outlaw and his quick trigger, I think it is justified, and it has been a lot better since he became a mod.

Okay, I'm not the only one that remembers how it used to be when we had less visible mods. So far the natives have spoken and I'm still going to enforce the rules then. I agree however that the LeTravel comment was fully 2 years ago before it became the official name of all the Wiz Whiners. It just cracks me up when people come here and say that LeBron gets the benefit of superstar calls when they have a player on there team who takes far less contact and gets just as many foul calls. It's almost as though people haven't even watched LeBron play and the tremendous amount of punishment that he takes. It makes me understand why Shaq would complain about non calls on occasion.

I remember seeing some interesting statistics about this precise topic awhile back (about Gil basically being a so-so player (shooting efficiency wise) until you factor in his ability to get to the line). Let me get back to you on that. But getting to the line is part of Gil's game. He can burn you from three so you have to stay up on him, then he blows by you to get to the basket where the only way to stop him is to foul him. With my wizards blinders on I can say that Gilbert gets called for a LOT of borderline charging calls.
I don't know about "far less contact." Far less than who? NBA refs are pretty annoyingly consistent. My beef with the charging calls is how you can get a charging call by leaping in front of somebody while you're still moving, not that I feel Gilbert gets those called on him more than other people.
The beef with LeBron is that there was that one call that was clearly, clearly wrong and should have been called, and cost the wizards a playoff win. You've gotta admit that from a zards fan's point of view that's simply unforgivable, particularly because we now hate the cav's guts. And that's poisoned the atmosphere, now people are complaining about LeBron taking the same number of steps everyone else is and saying that's traveling. Well, if you call that on LeBron you'll have to call it for everyone else, too.
But it's still fun to needle you guys about it because you get such a fun reaction...
Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

No doubt gilbert is a fine offensive player. He would look good in a cavs uni if he would just learn to shut up. But I dont know if he is ready for big mins in this series, and for sure if I were the cavs I would definitely try to rough him up to see how his frame of mind is after being out for so long.
I know the wiz will be clubbing lebron from whistle to whistle, and I am looking forward to ben laying some wood on gil, caron, and especially antwan. You guys are a very tough team to defend, but we have never really had a player who was willing or knew when to drop the hammer on the opps until now. I just hope ben is healthy.
I havent watched the wiz enough to know how they react to a physical team, but with our coach I probably wont get to see that in this series either.

not really. you guys were basically given game 4 of that series by the refs (cleveland was called for 11 offensive fouls and the wiz shot about 40 free throws). so some shady activity went on in both games in dc and the series was tied at 2. the wizards responded in games 5 and 6 with some of the worst clutch bball in the history of the playoffs.
so no i dont mind letravel because wizards fans are just using it as a crutch for their team's awful performances in games 5 and 6 when the series was tied at 2 going into game 5 after the shadiness of both games 3 (for the cavs) and 4 (for the wiz) in dc
