OT: Mozilla Firefox Vs. IE7Pro

Ok I have heard a lot of people talking about Firefox and so I downloaded it but I have not made it my default browser. I also downloaded IE7Pro with add block. IE7Pro seems to be a really good browser. It has user script controls that allow you to download You tube video. It has add block and flash block, and it has spell checker witch is really helping me on this site.
I have explored the Firefox browser and it has some of the same things, but because it is different the IE, I am not as used to navigating around it as much.
For those of you that use Mozilla. What do you think makes it a better browser than IE7Pro?

I've been using firefox for about 2 years and I'd never go back to IE. Firefox is so secure and easy to use (you can add a plug in to firefox to download YouTube videos as well). Here is a good site to go to check trends in all sorts of internet usage:

You can see the trend away from IE to Firefox.

I use both, but prefer - more so out of habit - Firefox. But it does chew up a bunch of memory ....

Both are bad...I have a HP and at some point it asked me if I wanted to download Safari (Mac's internet program)...I have been using it ever since and I would not even think about using either of the others. Safari is soooooooooooooo much faster.

I will give safari a look. The thing I would like if I used Firefox is the favorites (bookmarks) tab on the left side of the screen, but I can't find one.
After everything is said and done. I was just using IE and that was it. I'm not as quick to brush up on the emerging trends as you jitterbugs are. I like this eipro though and I have the firefox so I am going to spend some time with that as well. Thanks

Ok I am trying it now, but I just tried to log in and I noticed my Norton password protector that logs me into everything does'nt exist on this browser. It seems pretty fast. I like the way it fits the pages to my wide screen monitor.

Safari is fast, but it doesn't work well at all sites. I like to play games at pogo.com and it won't work there it doesn't accept the JavaScript download so that the games will load. That really is a pain and there are other sites with this same problem.
I love Firefox and then IE 7. Firefox is free IE 7 pro is not. You can get the free version with all of the extra's, but you are going to have to pay through the nose.
One other thing I hadn't used Firefox for a while because of school, but I have finished doing my online classes and back to Firefox which doesn't require me to stop disable my firewall each time I want to play a game at pogo. IE7 on the other hand makes me disable my firewall if I want a game to play.
So yes Firefox is the better browser of the three hands down.

Get Firefox and the switch-to-IE extension. Best of both worlds.

What's this IE7 "pro" that you have to pay for?

IE 7 is from MS - it's a free download
IE 7 Pro is a 3rd party plugin
IE7Pro's page says "free download"

No IE7Pro is free. I downloaded it free today. It works great. It's very fast when you modify your settings with add block.

Safari is ok, but it did not dowlnoad my norton toolbar so I contacted Norton and it turns out they do not offer protection for the Safari browser on windows. So it's a use at your own risk product. Norton does protect Mozilla.

Right now trying to get Firefox caught up with my sites that use with IE7 which is turning out to be a pain in the ............

firefox is just more versatile than ie7.

from the looks of it, that ie7 pro add-on just gives ie7 a bunch of features that firefox already has or that would be much more easily managed using firefox extensions.

also, if you're worried about firefox using up too much RAM, the beta version of firefox 3 uses a lot less memory than firefox 2.

the only problem is that it doesn't support all of the popular firefox 2 and firefox 1.5 extensions yet.

flashgot, adblock plus, ie view (yeah yeah yeah), and greasemonkey are all there, though.

haven't tried the new windows version of safari and i doubt i ever will.

last i heard, opera was indeed faster than both ie and firefox and more standards compliant. it even has a bittorrent client built in, iirc.

not a bad little browser, really.

Only for a brief period of time have I used IE (version 5 was significantly better and Netscape was frozen at 4.75), but always have been Netscape and (later) Mozilla user.

My recommendation would be either Firefox or Opera, which is really nice browser too. Although IE7 is real step forward from that ancient version 6, I'd stay away from IE as much as possible.

I like Firefox. Never used IE7Pro though so I cant compare. Anyone that uses IE7Pro care to give a rundown on which you like better and why?
