Damn.

Reading that was like a punch in the stomach, even though it wasn't a surprise.

They just said on KJR that one of the Maloofs voted for the move. I thought we would have had the Maloofs on our side. :nonono:

The Maloofs are trying to negotiate for a new arena AND in the end they would prefer to move to Las Vegas.

Not a surprise though. It's not in the owners' interests to side with a city that is standing up to NBA bullying. Our best chance is to keep fighting in the courts and make it more worth Bennett's time to sell up.

Stern is proving once again how much of a back-stabbing prick he is. This move has nothing to do with what is best for the Sonics or the NBA and everything to do with the politics. He doesn't like the fact that the city and state have told him the team's ownership has to kick in money for an area, so his childish response is "fine, I'll take my ball and go home". This greedy A-hole is really making me question whether I want to continue to support the NBA.

Is anyone listening to this F*#&ing idiot Stern on KJR!? Chris Daniels from King 5 News just started to ask him about the relocation, and Stern starting to break into his question, at which point Chris Daniels continued the rest of his question. Stern gave maybe the STUPIDEST response possible and said something like, 'I don't like to be interrupted so I'm not going to answer that question.' Are you kidding me!? IMPEACH STERN

Wow and Bennett just straight up ADMITTED that McClendon and Ward NEVER wanted to keep the team in Seattle. Those are the MAJORITY owners and somehow the group as a whole acted in "good faith best efforts!?" Am I missing something!?

Clavid cannot talk without lying. I knew the way the vote would go, but this press conference is ridiculous.

Well technically McClendon and Ward are considered minority owners.

That will be one videotape entered into evidence in Schultz' suit. I also don't buy his after-the-fact explanation that his "man possessed" comment referred to his desire to keep the Sonics in Seattle. Seems like a very convenient excuse to me.

Essex Porter asked the best questions, although no one really trumped him like they could have e.g. asking him "yes or no Clay, do you believe the city of Seattle should pay 400 million dollars for a 1/2 billion dollar stadium after paying for Safeco/Qwest"

Essex though asked him about the emails, I believe about Bennett's response of "I'm a man possessed". Bennett said he was a man possessed TO KEEP THE TEAM IN SEATTLE. LOLLLLL

This guy is so full of s--t. If he actually expects someone to believe that's what he meant he is out of his mind...

In any sense, he didn't really do anything else to hurt him. He looks stressed the f out...

i love this line from stern:

The support for the NBA demonstrated by the fans, government leaders and business community of Oklahoma City over the last three years has been extraordinary,
Don't act like you're not impressed.

And yet this will all blow up in the face of Clay Bennett, David Stern and the other 28 NBA Owners if Seattle wins the court case (which from what I have read, Seattle has a decent chance at winning).
