Hollinger on the Celtics

Post#1 » by TheSheriff » Fri Apr 18, 2008 7:08 pm

Wake up, folks -- this is one of the best teams of all time, and you might be surprised how easily they roll through the playoffs. I realize this is raining on the parade a bit since everybody is so jacked up about the competition in store this postseason, but I have to warn you there's a chance the Celtics are just going to flat-out destroy everybody.
The Western Conference is where all of the excitement and most of the quality resides, but I'd be very surprised if the West champs can beat Boston in the Finals ... and even more surprised if somebody besides Boston was their opponent.

Good read but I'm not surprised at all. Hollinger has been all over the C's jocks all season. I think they held the #1 spot in his power rankings like 95% of the season. That Chicago preseason pick was ugly but of course I like his pick to win it all now.

I read this earlier, too... me likey.

Of course some **** on SI still think the C's won't make it out of the East. Not that it's a given, but how can you pick against them right now?
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

You know I can kinda understand the C's doubters - if you just think about it on paper it doesn't sound quite so awesome. You might imagine things like well Kobe, Odom and Bynum can match up with Garnett, Pierce and RA and so on.

But the reality is these C's have been DOMINATING all year if you have been watching the games.

Every time they faced a "challenge" they have been soaring through it. They haven't even really been tested of late. They are playing tight like I never imagined a Doc Rivers team would..

My only knock is off late I think the Cassell deal has thrown House of his game. That's it! that's nothing..
