That Maccabi team was very weak, too. It was after they lost both Anthony Parker and Maceo Baston, two of their best players.

Euroleague top teams win... no-brainer... i'm not sure about low level teams but the greatest euro teams play much better (and have better players) than best NBDL teams... in the end it's basketball, not athletics.

The talent level is higher in the dleague, and if the dleague team was properly motivated and prepared they would win. However because of the extremely selfish play and general lack of organization in the dleague a euroleague team would win easily if they were to simply play a game right now.

The talent level is not higher in the D league, it is even at best. There is no one even close to being as good as guys like Papaloukas or Diamantidis in the D league. Euro teams have more talent and play more like a team. Euro teams would win by a wide margin here.

PG - Randy Livingston, Andre Barrett
SG - Julius Hodge, Morris Almond
SF - Stephane Lasme, Brandon Wallace
PF - Rod Benson, Ian Mahinmi
C - Mouhamed Sene, Kyrylo Fesenko

Something like that. Defense-oriented.

I'm sorry but that team would not win the Euroleague...

Teams like Tau are absolutetly loaded with talent

NOt to mention coaching in europe is at a far higher level than the
D-league coaching..

that team would get killed by any of the top 4 european elites in CSKA moscow, Tau, Pana, etc.

Good posts here come from Mans1 or Robbe, while bad ones - from ISB or Wigglestrue (I remember you as a serious poster, Wiggles, yet it looks like you're progressively getting worse, Mr. Rondo-over-Calderon :-( ).

Seriously, CSKA's best player is an NBA reject, Viktor Kryphya. No way these teams (which have at most, 1 borderline NBA player) would be able to beat any NBA team.

Minnesota and Al Jefferson, Miami and Wade/Marion, Bucks and Redd/Bogut, Clippers and Brand/Kaman/Maggette would all make mincemeat out of the best Euro teams.

prekazi wrote:^That's the thing Americans don't understand. It's not about stars, it's about teams: being a good team, team basketball-team offense, team defense. Did you guys forget how Greece beat USA? They played the old pick and roll whole game and USA team couldn't find an answer to it. Basketball is not that hard if you truly know it's fundamentals. You can always beat a team with 10 superstars with a disciplined team with decent athletes.

BTW Jasikevicius is a better baller than half of the NBA PG's, it's a shame that Nba coaches didn't use him.

What country would you take over the USA in a best of 7?

Each team gets a 2 month training camp

Are we comparing whole countries instead of teams right now, or is it serious lack of reading comprehension from your part?

Because it never ever happened, right? Not to mention beating recent Dream Teams - exclusively comprised of NBA stars, so this argument doesn't hold water - by other best NTs...

Seriously, Khryapa is not more than a backup on CSKA Moscow... he arrived for 1-2 months and often barely plays. He's useful but absolutely not a key man for the russian team...

So, please...

Viktor Khryapa is their best player!?

LOL

Gswhoops is a troll or talking out of his ass.

A Euroleague team would DESTROY any Dleague team. The olympics were not an exhibition and neither were the World Championships. That was Euros beating Americans for real.

This thread should be locked because of that Khryapa comment. No clue at all... so what's the point of discussion?
