Everyone seems to think all of the comentators are bad. Can someone give me an example of a good comentator.

You can't have something that is bad with out having something that is good.

So point out who is a good comentator so we have a bench mark to measure the ability of others.

A lot of former players know what they're talking about, they just suck at relaying that info. Steve Smith for example is intelligent when it comes to basketball, but his vocabulary is made up of no more than 100 words.

- Doug Collins
- JVG
- Greg Anthony
- Kenny Smith
- Jim Barnett (Warriors)
- Matt Guokas (Magic, Cavs before)
- Walt Frazier (Knicks)
- Hubie Brown
- Tom Tolbert (when he was with ESPN)

I like those guys a lot... aside from Charles of course :)

Gotta disagree with the top 2. Doug Collins overly slurpage of Kobe Bryant over the years. Now to his dumping of Kobe and slurpage of everything LeBron puts him below JVG in my book. JVG is the most unbiased...tell it as it is basketball guy on TV. And he quite honestly..he has a higher BBall IQ than Doug. I mean Collins is great...but not better than JVG.

Reggie's voice is bad, and his jokes usually don't appeal to me personally, but he's not hoooooooooorrible. John Barry is horrible, Tom Tolbert was horrible, reggie is just average.

Reggie's voice breaks a lot, and he likes to reiterate what went on in a play rather than add new insight. " Monta Ellis got the ball right there and went up for a strong finish".........thanks Reg.

The Warriors colour guy is the best I've come across so far.
