Man, I wouldn't have been upset if the Magic overpaid for him. What an asset he is. He would be awesome next to Dwight. Damn you Otis.

Didn't KT say something recently about being flattered by how the Magic pursued him earlier in the season and gave "we'll see what happens" kind of answer when asked about playing for the Magic next season??

He would be a great veteran presence on the Magic. He plays tough defense and rebounds the ball. Exactly what we need.

Arent we paying Battie something like 5 mil for that?

We need to start developing Battie's successor.

He induced at least 4 different offensive fouls on the Suns, and that's only what I watched of the game.

cant have enough role players who care about the team, play defense, rebound, and not care about scoring. Its something the magic really lack right now.

Thomas was stoic on D.

Great addition.
Basketball is driven by three principles:

1) Movement 2) Application of fundamentals 3) Predictability

I like the idea of Veterans around Dwight right now. When he gets a bit more seasoned, look to bring in some young guys to develop.
out of difficulty comes opportunity.

A certain former employee of the Spurs and now GM Seattle pushed two picks if the Magic wanted him, and when everyone balked he turned to the Spurs with sweetheart deal one pick.
Both ESPN and SI said that as a GM he needs to make friends throughout the league and he didn't with that trade.

Thinking about Thomas, I don't see how the Magic can afford him. Only a SnT could bring him over, and that would include either Battie or Foyle as part of the package.

The Magic should be just fine next year at back-up combo big.

What is needed is a traditional starter at PF. Thomas does not fit that role.

The Magic could afford him next year, but the only reason the Magic went after him, was because Battie was out. Thomas is over the hill and not worth a contract that is any length. The Magic could get him cheap, but he's not worth it.
