ABC, ESPN and TNT Playoff Broadcasts

Post#1 » by P'Oed » Sun Apr 20, 2008 2:35 am

Why do ABC/ESPN feel like we need some useless interview every quarter? I feel like the coaches probably get really pissed when they have to do those end of quarter interviews. Just shut up and show the game. That's all we want to see.

Also can't wait for the TNT broadcasters instead of the ABC/ESPN ones. Marv is the man.

TNT is epically better than the other two. Van Gundy is the only thing that saves ABC.

yea Van Gundy is good but sometimes he's a little too quick with what comes out of his mouth. I like the brutally honest thing he's got going though. I even think Reggie is pretty insightful I just hate his voice.

TNT if only because they don't feel the need to include some ill fitting country or rock song to the playoffs.

Seriously though it isn't really close for me. Better broadcasts, more entertaining half time, no horrible pop theme...

HD for any kind of playoff sporting event is just awesome. I think even more so for basketball because of the indoor lighting and the close proximity of the crowd noise. We only get ABC HD in my apt. for some reason so I won't get to see if TNT's is better but it was just hypnotizing watching that Suns-Spurs game in crystal clearness.

I honestly can't stand Van Gundy's attempt at humor, I think it would be better with Jackson and Breen with anyone else.

i think Fastbreak is doing a great job, as did Mike Tirico and Hubie Brown in game 1 of Mavs Hornets

i prefer that to the annoying abc tv actors that show up randomly to say "your watching nba on abc" and it is rarely someone I know like someone from Lost.

It's the leagues new rule for the viewers to have an all access to the game.

I think the woman who did the Ut/Hou game was a good analyst. They both were alright actually. They were'nt trying to be the stars. I just want to know the details. Tell me the call if it's close. Keep me up to date with stats and trends. The sports world has been too influenced by the Faux News train of thought that the News is the News.

Hubie Brown/Mike Breen are the only things keeping the ESPNBABC train rolling....the rest sucks.

That intro that TNT had for the playoffs with Terrence Howard was brilliant

Wilbon being an NBA analyst is a joke, you could pull a random dude off the street and he would know more about the NBA than Wilbon.
