Post#1 » by Guy986 » Sat Apr 19, 2008 3:37 am

Which do you think will win?

I'm having this discussion with someone on the general board and i said one of these 2 teams are clearly better than the other and he's non too happy about it. Please help us decide.

I'm gonna take a wild stab at this and say the best HS team today would completely destroy an international team of the 60's.

The best HS team would brutally murder the best international team in the '60s.

I'll vote since it's my good friend, Guy986's poll.

Best HS team today gets my vote.

Played under the rules today, and the International Team would probably lose. They haven't seen crossovers with the game has evolved, and they'd be whistled for fouls every time.

Played under the rules in the 60s, and the top players from High School teams probably wouldn't be able to dribble at all without getting whistled for travels. Notice how players from the 60s always dribbled with the palm directly over the ball.

I voted 60s. They were better athletes overall and more skilled.

Team on the 60s with rules from the 60s. The game was cleaner. Now it is filled with rose like delicacy judgment of fouls thanks to the Stern revolution.

Players of the '60s have admitted the things they used to do then could be done today by children in schoolyards.

I would go with any USSR team of the 60's over a high school team.

The US highschool team of the 1960s could beat the best best international team of the 1960s.

I think you guys are giving today's high school teams the benefit of the doubt. Have you seen the McDonalds All American games? Really, the basketball is not that exciting. I promise. But of course, it depends how you structure the game. Are we using '60s rules?

The 2004 class could do it. Dwight Howard, Josh and JR Smith, Shaun Livingston, Al Jefferson.

I never really thought about it. I think the fairest will probably be current international FIBA rules.
