And imagine if the nuggets hit their FT's at a healthy clip or if Nene were healthy......its all pipe dreams. But for being the first game on the road, I think the Nuggets have put themselves in a fine position.

Well, except that Kobe having better games than todays' is almost a sureity.

The difference in ball movement is striking.

Nuggets are a little more one on one oriented than you average NBA team, but I think the difference in ball movement is more due to the fact that the current Lakers team is one of the most spectacular passing teams in NBA history.

I can promise you that Kobe shooting under 40% happens waaaaay more often than the nuggets missing 14 FT's. Kobe still got his points.

I don't know about history but seeing how their big men, Odom and Gasol, can pass, work off each other, run the fast break and initiate the offense is pretty nice and certainly an advantage to anyone they will play.

Aren't both of these teams short handed? Nobody seems to mention that at all...

I kind of disagree. Kobe had a horrible game, but the shorthanded Lakers still end up beating the Nuggets by a good margin.

Imagine if Kobe doesn't play like crap, or if Bynum and Ariza are healthy.

Nuggets missin Nene and Aktins still been injuried so no excuses. Calling Lakers short handed is funny. Laker fans are funny at times.

George Karl- it was not Gasol that tore us apart, it was the Lakers that tore us up, I think Coby Karl would have made the baskets that Gasol made.

 I love that guys sense of humor.

Well if they're both shorthanded, then it cancels out to an extent doesn't it?

I don't know, but I thought Denver continously trying to push the having Anthony Carter on the floor was very pointless for them. Not that I think they would've won either way lol, but they would've had a better chance if they kept the Kmart on Kobe, and played either Najera or Klieza in that starting lineup (which takes away LA posting up Radman or Luke).

GO LAKERSSS!!

I don't know, but I'd assume (and I think it's a very good assumption) before he was a Laker, there were as many Laker fans as non Laker fans who would've shared that same opinion, or would've used the same "argument" if he was playing against their team...so there's no point being made here.

Houston is shorthanded without yao or rafer alston... their 1st or 2nd best player and a key starter.

Lakers are missing a key starter and bench

Nuggets are missing 2 key bench player

You could argue Lakers are shorthanded, but I only use that term when you lose one of your top players..

Kobe didn't play that well on the floor, but he drawed a lot of fouls and then knocked them down from the free throw line.

Ariza would make a difference too? What has Ariza dont in this league? The only important player Lakers are missing is Bynum because he makes an impact and Nene for the Nuggets. Fair enough for you?
