But somebody must be saying that if he's the frontrunner to be GM of the Knicks. That's one of the premiere jobs in the whole sport, and Walsh could probably have his pick of anyone from around the NBA or Euroleague, etc. How could he have come to the conclusion that Larry Harris was the best man for the job?
I feel a lot of stuff goes on in the league that we have no clue about. It may have been known around the league that LH had a steal in getting Boozer but Kohl shot him down. Even though the deal never went down it made LH look great. Who knows how many great deals worked out but were stopped by Kohl? I think everyone in the league knows Kohl and the Bucks are a joke because all the deals started and ended with Kohl. I feel LH is being judged on way more than the team we saw on the floor. I could see him going into an interview and explaining how he took over a rotten team with bad contracts. He had a plan to end up with a core of TJ, Redd, Brewer, Boozer and Bogut. He then explain what everyone already knows in that Kohl cut his legs off when he vetoed the deal and then made him hire Stotts.
People complain that LH built a team where the parts didn't fit right. Well think about this for a second. Just as he was finishing off his master plan his best trade idea in Boozer is vetoed and he's forced to hire a new coach in Stotts. That team was on its way to over a .500 record and the playoffs. Then they were devastated by injuries that no team could overcome. Then LH is forced to get another coach that wants to run an entirely new offense. Then after the season starts Kohl forces LK to drop the triangle. Now I ask how a GM can be expected to build a team that works well together when he can't hire the coach he wants and that coach then has to run the offense the owner wants. If LH gets a new GM job soon I feel it further validates the point that everyone knew Kohl was holding him back. I mean why else would the GM of such a rotten team get another chance so soon.
Again, based on Kohl's actions I have no clue how good LH is. But if someone is even looking at LH for any GM job then someone that knows a lot more than us thinks LH is much better than Kohl let him demonstrate.
