Round 1 Game 2: WAS @ CLE

Post#1 » by DallasShalDune » Sun Apr 20, 2008 9:26 pm

Our Washington Wizards @ LeBron's Traveling Circus!

Date: Monday, April 21th, 2008
Time: 7:00pm (EST)
TV: TNT

Who is going to win??

Our Washington Wizards?
PG: Antonio Daniels
SG: DeShawn Stevenson
SF: Caron Butler
PF: Cap. Antawn Jamison
C: Brendan Haywood
Honorable Mention:
Gilbert Arenas Will he even play?.

or the other squad.
PG: Some guy with a red spot on his face
SG: Some no-name scrub
SF: Some Golden Calf
PF: Some guy with an afro
C: Some tall guy with no knees
Honorable Mention:
Some 3-point spark We suck against shooters, that is all I'm going to say.

Matchup of the Night:
Caron Butler vs. LeTravel
If Gilberto's wrist is going to keep him out, we need Caron to step up. Hell, we need him to step up anyway. We can win this series, but we need our stars to play as such.

X-Factor(s) for our Wizards:
The bench
Mason. Songaila. Blatche. Maybe even Nick Young. We need these guys to play well, alongside a hopefully healthy Gilbert Arenas, so we can show Cleveland we're better, because we ARE better.

--------------------------

I call a win. By double digits. Yes, on the road.

I dedicate this post to Donkey.

I believe. I'm fan - an unabashed, complete Washington fan. I used to tell JRo how much I thought Chris Whitney and Anthony Goldwire could play - just because they wore the Wiz uni. Ike Austin? Hey, he just needs to find his rhythm. Kwame? What a physical beast.

But those days - while entertaining - are over. We now have a skilled team full of good guys.

Wiz win. Don't make me bump up the dlts optimism thread. Wiz win, Wiz win! I call the dagger by Caron with 1:10 left to give the Wiz an 8 point lead (at the time). Wiz eventually win by 5.

Go Wizards.

We need Nick Young in there if Gils wrist is seriously injured. Right now he is the only player on the roster besides Gil who can break down defenses.

Can't believe Gilbert is injured. That's not what we need.

I'll be an optimist, though. Wizards win thanks to a bounce-back effort from Caron Butler.

Both DeShawn and Roger Mason come out firing and running on all cylinders.

Jamison notches 20-10, and Brendan D's up Big Z as well as he's ever done.

To keep the optimism going, we managed to earn an above .500 record without Agent Zero, on the strength of great team unity, including back to back wins against the best team in the NBA, the Celtics, a sweep of the 2nd best team in the West, the Hornets, and numerous other statement games.

If we can beat those guys, we can beat Cleveland. Let's get it done.

(Oh, and if there was ever a time for a doclinkin inspirational "get the troops ready for battle" post, it's now)

We'll shoot better and we'll win. Why? Going down 2 - 0 in a series where the refs might as well be wearing WITNESS shirts under their uniforms is essentially suicide. I've gotta believe AJ won't let that happen.

Wow@Gilbert out. The Cavs might blow us out if Butler doesn't step up. Also Nick Young should get Mason and Daniels minutes, he always kills the Cavs.

Why thank you. I'm pretty confident that we can pull this one out. Player for player, we are the better team.

He's gonna suck though with an injured wrist on his shooting hand.

If the injury was such that he wasn't even sure when it happened, and it didn't really hurt until it swelled up a day later, then it's probably not that bad of an injury. He might even be okay by Monday night.

We'll be able to tell instantly when he enters the game......if he drives to the basket, the wrist is bothering him......if he shoots the deeeeeeeep three, he's fine.

I think NY1 earned playing time in this series because he did play decent against Cleveland this year. Anybody remember his facial of LeBron??? WoW!! That's something to tell his grandkids about there. I think unless Gil is really hurt, or Mason and Deshawn have bad shooting nights again, we won't see NY1 until the series comes to Washington.

Haha, we'll try. But man, what an awesome game that was (DET/PHI - game 1). Congrats on the win.

Congrats to you for that big win. It's a shame the Wizards lack the heart, defense, and killer instinct to close out a game so we might be going fishing in a week and a half unlike the 76ers.
