Camby and AC might as well have not even been in the stadium....AI got a few uncontested layups at the end, or he would've had another 8 or 9 for 20 something, with his great ft pct.....and Karl not going back to the zone in the 2nd half was a huge part of this loss. Melo played good, not great....and K-marts offense is a joke. We need Nene in a bad way.
how blind are you??? carmelo did the same thing as AI did at the end of the game, he made a few layups/dunks or he would have had a 8 for something or 9 for something game. Not to mention AI made his shots to cut the lead to 9. Melo made them in the last 3 minutes of the game after iverson was ejected and the game was over.

How was Melo from the free throw line again? I know it wasn't great, but maybe better then 55 pct. or whatever it was AI shot. AI was brought here to put us over the top, and take pressure of Melo come playoff time...looking at his last 5 playoff games, I'd say we're not getting our moneys worth.

Gasol, the Lakers ball movement and exploiting mismatches was the thorn in the Nuggets side today. If anyone says any different, they weren't paying attention. If Kobe wasn't dumb today, the Lakers would of won by 20 and scored 140+ points.
The mindset of the team as well as some fans on this board to outscore or always blame **** on offense is disgusting. The FT's and some other stuff didn't help and really sucked, but it wouldn't of changed the outcome of the game and if it did, then it would of been a fluke 130-128 type of win that would be hard to duplicate 3 more times.
I mean, look at what Kobe did today (9-26 and 1 dime) and the Lakers still had no problems. If one of our stars had a game like that, then the Nuggets probably would of had no chance or gotten blown out. The Nuggets rely to heavily on AI or Melo having near perfect games offensively.
It was hard to watch Kobe have a mediocre game and the Lakers still win pretty comfortable with others stepping up. That's what makes a consistent and title contending team. Kenyon did a great job on Kobe, but it also set it up for Gasol and Odom to abuse the interior. Kobe was pretty stupid at times trying to do unnecassary ****, but not enough for the Nuggets to take advantage and steal an undeserved win.

That's exactly what he's done to an extent. Quit blaming minor **** when there are other major flaws. AI is a minor flaw, if at all IMO. He just looks worse than he actually is in a **** system and mentality to score 200 points a game to have a shot. The teams mindset is ****, with or without Iverson. They couldn't get out of the first round before AI, with him and I'm 95% sure they won't after if they keep the same stupid mindset on how to win games in their **** heads. Instead of the Nuggets changing their philosophy, they just go out and get AI to make it look more respectable, when it's really not. What stupid ****.

I agree that AI is not a major problem on this team. Bench AC for the entire series, start klieza instead, and play hunter 15 minutes a game and I guarantee we win Game 1...if not the entire series.
give us a coach who will either make us better defensively through practice and training, or surround us with an efficient offensive system that highlights our talents...and we are an elite 55-60 win team.
this is all without major changes to our roster. not to mention having a 25 minute per game nene would work wonders for our interior defense and offensive efficiency.
I used to attack iverson...but I like what he brings to the table.

I agree with you Bundo. AI is a problem, but he's more of part of a problem in a flawed overall product IMHO. He can help patch it a little, but he sure isn't going to fix it. It seems like if he **** up in the slightest, game over. That shouldn't be the case. Not with Melo either. Look at what Kobe did today, instead of Laker fans jamming it down his throat, they are celebrating a win that didn't need him to be superman for them to win, even comfortably at that.
If it takes AI to be near flawless, minimize his ability as a pure point or play both positions notably because Carter is the best you can do, then they should save themselves and AI the time and ship him out after this year.

Many are starting the Melo Vs. AI thing... good for Big and Archi not too....
However that being said... they all have to play better...
yes, the coaching strategy was not very sound... especially starting AC instead of a bigger guard that might be able to play Radman one on one...Yak or B Jones or Diawara.
I say start one of those men over Kleiza or JR..because they are so valuable coming off the bench...and one of the major complaints last year was we had no bench depth...so to keep and 8 or 9 man rotation...just seems smarter.
Kleiza and JR played well...AI and Melo had a few moments..but honestly..they were average for what they can do... Watching both of them, I know there is much more in the tank than that performance...yes they got numbers, but it's not always about numbers.
While Camby was softer than a marshmallow....the defense we played left him playing 2 on 1 and other missed shots were rebounded and dunked or a nice pass for a dunk. We can't blame Camby for being out of place all the time...but he was very soft on the glass and was slow on rotations that allowed the lay-ups and dunks.
So...I just gotta hope they play harder and smarter come Wednesday!

well since i cant post in the game two thread cuz it's closed i will post my thoughts here. Simply put Kobe annihilated us! He shot out of this world and dished like a madman. We just couldn't contain him. He played like the MVP that he is. This series is most likely over unless Kobe gets injured or suspended. We just need to make sure Kobe doesn't go off on us again at our home. If that means double teaming him every possession do it he can't embarass us like that in Denver. Now that kleiza got his chance to start and didn't do too well let's give JR a chance to start. He deserves a shot seeing how well he played offensively tonight. The only chance we have to beat LA is to outshoot them! We need JR's firepower to start the game off! Iverson like i said needs to play all 48 minutes in the next game and give JR 35-40 minutes. And we need to find a way to get easy fastbreak points. The lakers for the most part have taken that away from us.
