Those who bitch and moan about the Spurs' style ought to email the moderators requesting cancellation of their RealGM profile, because they can't tell basketball from bocce.
And yes, I fear the Jazz. Though my perspective is a little different. I'm a Jazz fan, and I fear they won't play to their potential the whole time. They're potential champions for sure, but I wouldn't bet my next meal on them to win it.

The Spurs bore the crap out of me. That doesn't make me some basketball Judas. Get over it.

This is how I see the teams in the west in terms of being a Threat
Level 1 (Teams to Beat)
1. Lakers
2. Spurs
Level 2 (Ability to be Elite but just a tad bit short)
3. Jazz
4. Suns
5. Hornets
6. Mavs
Level 3 (Good but not good enough)
7. Nuggets
Level 4 (First round bye... if only Yao was there)
8. Rockets
I would fear all teams on Level 1 and 2. The Nuggets could maybe win a series but I wouldn't worry about them being able to get to the finals. I was thinkin of puttin the Mavs on Level 3 as well but havin Howard, Dirk and Terry is still scary. I also think the Hornets inexperience of playing in the playoffs might hurt them but I wouldn't bet against Paul and West... those 2 seem poised

I still only hear Spurs/Suns/Lakers vs. Celtics/Pistons finals.
I made a thread just about a few weeks ago, about how Philly and Utah are the most underrated teams, and the numbers, and even a computer iterations tests say that Utah will win.
Numbers aside, they are not coming to gain more experience, but their offense is the most efficient in the NBA, and their defense has just elevated.
I guess really no one fears the Jazz.

I have to agree.
This is also the reason some Jazz fans don't appreciate Harpring on our team or b..ch and whine about Sloan's coaching.

As a Rockets fan I fear the Jazz.
I don't think any team with a legitimate shot to actually win is worried about them.
I don't really get this sentiment. I don't consider the Spurs boring or anything, but that's because I enjoy basketball in general, but I don't get why some thinking they're boring doesn't know basketball. There are prettier systems in place in basketball.

What is with this obnoxious need of some people to act like they're the Keepers of the Basketball Gold Standard? I love Harpring and Sloan, but if someone said Sloan's offense bored the crap out of them, that doesn't somehow make them less of a basketball fan. Anyone who says Utah's and San Antonio's offenses are poor, inefficient, or bad basketball are idiots and flat-out wrong. Aesthetic enjoyment? That's another matter entirely.

I was not talking about you.
I was referring to the reasoning people use. If Harpring will miss layup (believe me, I cringe) people will say "Harpring sucks" (meaning he should be taken out of the game immediately), completely ignoring the fact that in the same game he had couple of crucial screens, rebounds and frustrated the hell out of opponents best player (aka Carmelo), not allowing to be bullied around.
Or when someone complains about Sloan's substitution pattern not really knowing what's going on on the floor. And usually they complain after the game, when everyone knows what went wrong

People have this perception that a particular team is boring.
To me there are no boring teams in the NBA. There are teams that can or can not play basketball on a certain level.
If you are a basketball purist you will like Spurs' offense.
if you like unorthodox plays, look at Manu or Parker, or ...? ok I run out of options...
For me personally Nuggets are an example of pretty frustrating/boring team. How can you be so bad with such talent? (mostly 1 on 1)
I like and appreciate what Iverson or Carmelo can do individually (on the floor of course
), but it has to be balanced with smart basketball, otherwise its inefficient and , sorry for the lack of a better word, stupid.
I agree that aestheticism of a game is a subjective matter, but to call Spurs or Jazz boring is really a stretch. And if only dunks and 3 pt shots matter then maybe they should create game WW NBA where only showing off will count.

I'm on board with you here. You just seemed to be agreeing with Ern's assertion that "anyone who thinks the Spurs are boring should have their RealGM account revoked," which is self-congratulatory and preposterous.

How is it "really a stretch?" Why do you HAVE to be entertained by the Spurs or Jazz offense?
I do agree that Denver is extremely boring because it's like watching a pick-up game where the guys have no chemistry.

The Spurs are boring and NBA fans agree - when the play they get very low ratings. They play at a very slow pace and Tim Duncan just jogs up the floor. It might lead to wins and be efficent but its also boring. Mike Frattello won a ton of games that way. But it's still boring. Good != exciting.
The Lakers feature in a complicated efficent half-court offense but are far more exciting to watch - as are the Celtics.

But then you say the offensively handicapped Celtics are fun to watch. Just look at you stuffed with media biased.
Utah by the way has the best efficient offensive rating in the league. They play insane basketball.
