Detroit Tigers righthander Jeremy Bonderman could miss the remainder of the season after the team announced Saturday that he has a blood clot in the axillary vein, a vessel that carries blood to the chest.

Bonderman was examined Friday at the Detroit Medical Center, where it was determined that he has a clot due to a circulatory problem known as thoracic outlet compression syndrome.

The pitcher underwent a thromblysis on Friday night to break the clot, followed by an angioplasty, at the Detroit Medical Center under the supervision of Tigers team physician Dr. Stephen Lemos. Bonderman will undergo further tests at a future date.

^Short of an outbreak of the plague in the dugout?

Not much.

On the plus side, we beat the Indians! Not exactly the battle of the titans that matchup was forecasted to be entering the season, but hey, its ours.

I can see the headlines now: Ebola has struck the Tigers. They will be out for life

Beating the Indians is fun...but still...id like to win more than 2-3 in a row
