Skiles Accepts Offer to Coach Bucks

Post#1 » by magicfan4life05 » Mon Apr 21, 2008 2:25 pm

Just heard on espn, he will coach the bucks

dont know the details yet, it's gonna be weird he's in the same division as the bulls

Scott Skiles verbally has accepted an offer from the Bucks, erasing him as a Knicks coaching candidate, according to a league source. Skiles' imminent hiring strengthens front-runner Mark Jackson's candidacy, which received another boost over the weekend with Jeff Van Gundy's endorsement.

It's good for the Bucks I guess....at least initially. They have enough talent to make the playoffs so we'll see what he can do with that.

I wonder if he would've accepted the job had Hammond not been hired as GM.

So how soon can he get around to coaching the Pistons, Cavs, and Pacers to complete the sweep?

So does this mean that the Bucks will be trading Bogut for peanuts within the next year or two? :blank:

More like trading redd for peanuts. I see a trade involving the cavs and wally + varejo (sp?)

Bogut+Michael Redd = Zaza Pachulia+Marvin Wililams

I saw it coming... lol j/k

this is good news for the Bucks, he is a really smart coach, who should bring up some flowing offense and stiffling defense. Chicago is just st00pid for judging him so quick.

i always thought that the bucks could be better than they are. their lineup looks good on paper, they really need someone to come and organize the team and their attitudes and get them working together, then I think they will have success. skiles is a good addition and should help them move towards that goal.

I think Mo will be traded before Redd is.

I can't see how the Bucks wanted this guy over someone like Larry Brown, who, despite the baggage in NY (mainly because no one would have lasted in that situation), would have turned the Bucks into a 50 win team next season.

who out there should they have gotten?

My take is hoe hum for this, from what ive gathered from Bucks fan I don't know if this coaching switch will change much. I do agree that this could lead to a fire sale on some players.

the thing about signings is that, they are a two way street. you may want someone to come sign with you, but they have to want to as well...Skiles is a good coach, but like other younger coaches he has his faults. He will help the Bucks...they still need to make a few moves before anything major takes place...

After Porter, Stotts and Krystowiak we will gladly take it.

Skiles was Hammond's first choice and he got him. In the previous regime that wouldn't have happened. We would have gotten the third or fourth choice, I think that's already a sign of good things to come. Obviously Hammond didn't like what he saw in Brown or Carlisle so he got Skiles. Can't wait for next season.
