Look at the shots Kobe missed in the first half. They weren't bad shots. He took bad shots in the 4th.

Read and watch the Karl post game conference. They way they played Kobe allowed Gasol to get those easy looks. Pau didn't have to create anything for himself.

And how would you categorize Kobe and Gasol? I'd say great is a pretty good adjective for that 1-2 punch.

No crap it's a good 1-2 punch. But it's like coming out and saying "I am great." Try some modesty.

Decent 1-2 punch? Passable 1-2 punch? Mildly entertaining 1-2 punch?

Its funny , no matter how well Kobe plays or the Lakers perform as a team .......... Some of you Peps still come on here and Bash Kobe and our team .

The guy (Kobe) scored 32 points and he played very well .

Yet you can honestly say he's a third option or he's not MVP caliber player .

What a Joke ........

Ok, I am being petty here for sure. But Kobe has always been arrogant, so I feel the need to point out whenever it shines through a little.

You would never hear Duncan talk about how great he is, that's all.

Kobe played very well? He played horrible but shot a lot of free throws when the game was already over late in the 4th. He's lucky that Gason/Odom carried the team and put the game away when Kobe was on the bench.

So the F.Ts he shot was a gift from the reffs or did he play aggresive and took the ball to the hoop and drew fouls ?

Also , you guys are forgetting that he has been unselfish this season and he seems to find a lot of open teammates which happen to be guys like Pau , L.O and Sasha ........

Again no matter how well Kobe plays ...... some peps are still going to critisize his game and perfromance every time ....

As a Laker fan , I was very pleased at the level he played yesterday .

Saying that he and Gasol are a great 1-2 punch is not the same as talking about how great he is.

That would sound like: "Well I'm awesome, and Gasol is awesome, so we're awesome together. Awesome."

I can definitely hear Duncan say "Well, we have a great 1-2-3 and if all of us play well it makes it difficult for the other team."

You're actually one of the very few Laker fans pleased with his play yesterday. The Lakers played their best with him on the bench, he almost shot them out of the game and got the majority of his points when the game was already over late in the 4th. Shooting 9 for 26 with 1 assist won't get the Lakers too far.

Duncan saying something similar wouldn't surprise me one bit. The comment wasn't bad in any way, shape or form. He just said the Lakers have a great 1-2 punch. He didn't talk about how great he is himself.

I didn't think it was possible, but some people actually hate on Kobe TOO MUCH..I had a problem with Kobe's comments in the off-season, because it involved his own teammate..there's nothing wrong with being confident about your team or your best players though , and he isn't making any negative comments about any of his teammates or even anybody else..

it isn't like he's Sebastien Telfair or something..everybody realizes how good Kobe is..

so far in this thread after just one game, haters have called out Kobe for:

1. "Stealing" the post game interview away from Pau Gasol.

2. Being cocky which is something majority of superstars do.

3. Not being M-V-P worthy because of one bad game in the post season.

4. Saying his team has a great 1-2 punch which evidentially makes him arrogant.

Haters at full force.

I cant wait to see what happens if the Lakers win and Kobe actually has a good game.

LOL OMG @ #4. Are you serious? People would probably spin it another way too, KOBE didnt mention LO or a possible return of Bynum. He should of said a great 1-2-3 punch and a possible 4 punch combo!

I wonder what people would say if KOBE came out and said "I'd pick Gasol over KG. KG don't play defense".

Thanks for all of your in depth insight. I was going to comment in the Heat Playoff match-up thread but I couldn't find it for some reason. Have fun in the lottery
