Dirk of Tmac would you do it?

Post#1 » by wadero » Mon Apr 21, 2008 2:54 pm

If we lose to Utah again everyone know Tmac days are numbered. Dallas situation with Dirk is almost as bad. So would you do Dirk for T-mac straight up? It works in trade Checker. Any thought?

Rather keep Tmac. Then trade him for another choker.

Dirk is a better player, and there's NO way Dallas would even consider this trade. McGrady's trade value is arguably at an all time low, he's become real inefficient, injury prone and has a large contract.

How are McGrady's days numbered? I fail to see how someone would actually think that without Yao...we are better than Utah. That we could beat them in a 7 game series without probably our best player. I mean thats a complete disrespectful thing to say about the Jazz and no wonder Jazz fans hate some of you idiots that post on this board.

- Alexander himself has basically said he does not expect anything out of this team during the playoffs this year, but that there will not be any heavy consequences from that.
- I hate Dirk.
- Dirk is far more capable of a choker than McGrady ('s reputation, as imo he's only really done it once, last year).
- Nowitzki is a better scorer and rebounder, but nowhere near the passer McGrady is, for all the shots McGrady misses, we'd lose twice as many easy-assist baskets from role players (granted we would probably gain some back from the added defensive rebounding, but it would be an overall loss)
- I really, really hate Dirk.
- Dallas wouldn't trade Dirk for still-very-effective Shaq in 2004, why would they trade him for McGrady now?
- Seriously, how can you post on a Houston board and ask for us to get Dirk Nowitzki? That's like a Chicago fan wanting to pick up Ewing and Dumars in '93 or the Kings/Blazers looking to get Kobe in '00.
- We lose our alternate point guard and a better defensive player

That should work for starters... I'm sure there's at least 10 more good reasons it wouldn't work for either side.

If we got Dirk we'd have this guy attending our games:

No thanks.

What are you high?

I think if I wanted to trade McGrady it'd be to the Warriors, lol.

Back court swap? Baron and Monta for Alston in Tmac? lol, to bad the Warriors would never consider doing that :(

They miiiiiiiight via a sign-and-trade if they were pretty sure Davis was about to walk for nothing. Maybe... maybe... but it's so lopsided in our favor there would have to be some sharp, panic-inducing motivation for them (also assuming the finances worked, which I'm pretty sure they don't without someone else 4-5 mil coming from GS - Ellis is only making 770k right now, remember. We'd have to sign him).

Truth right here.

I'd love to get Dirk for TMAC, but Dallas won't do it.

As much as we are down on Stack & Terry right now, we would not do that trade because it simply does not make sense with Dirk as our PF and Bass as our best inside PF since Roy Tarpley. Maybe as part of a 3 way? IDK, I'd concider something around Bobby Jackson + filler for Jason Terry.

Oh, BTW, no way in hell Dallas does the original deal.

Who ? The guy who beat San Antonio single handedly and then went to the finals ?

Dirk had 2 bad playoff series' in his whole career.

TMac is a joke nowadays. Already his infamous "It's on me" interview which was followed by yet another 1st round exit is more of an embarrasment than anything Dirk has ever done. Oh yeah, wasn't TMac the one who said that "it is so great to finally be in the 2nd round" just to choke away a 2 game lead ?

Please, at least won't open his mouth before a series just to look like an idiot afterwards.

Don't get upset just because I dissed your favorite player. The TNT crew is absolutely right. Dude, has tremendous support but fails to perform when the team needs him. Who cares if Dirk single-handedly beat the Spurs couple years ago. Why does that matter? We're more concerned about his performance as of recent. He can't do **** today. I know McGrady is also a joke, but his situation is contrary to Dirk's as he has absolutely no support in his team..

Why don't you try and be a little more rational, trading T-Mac for Dirk will not help this team. Everyone on this board knows this, and if you are a fan of the Houston Rockets, you should know this too. I can't imagine how awful this team would be without someone who can create plays for others.

^^^
And who is his "tremendous support"

Josh How2ard in the 1st half..okay. Terry sometimes in the 2nd half. But rest of our team, including Kidd, sucks. That includes Howard in the 2nd half and Terry in the 1st half.

I think Dirk chokes on his bratwurst well enough in Dallas.
