something about this hire doesn't sit right with me. I'm just not sure on Skiles.

Curry's career FG% is 54.6%, Bogut's is 53.0%. I don't see a huge difference there.

A higher percentage and higher degree of difficulty in shots taken do indicate a superior offensive player. It is not as difficult to have a plus 50% shooting when you only are doing dunks and put backs. I think Curry is a better and more efficient scorer than Bogut, but maybe not a better offensive player and certainly not as good overall.

I wonder if Hinrich liked Skiles - Because I like Hinrich as a PG.

I just hope Skiles uses Bogut for more than a screen.

I hope that Hammond can unload someone on Chicago to bring in at least 1 defender. I would prefer Noccioni, but I could live with Hinrich if we unloaded Mo.

He will not take any crap from his players. he also won't allow them to avoid playing defense. If Redd, Williams, Villanueva, etc., doesn't work hard on defense, they will end up on the bench and/or in Skiles' doghouse very quickly. Same thing if he thinks you aren't giving your best effort or if you aren't sharing the ball on offense.
....

So will we be able to field five players? If we bench/doghouse the guys who don't play good defense, don't have good BB IQ, don't hustle all the time, or are too soft, how many guys will we have left?

And of those few (if any) guys who are 100% effort, how many (if any) have both some BB IQ and some NBA-talent besides?

I'm just wondering whether Skiles will be scowling because his doghouse will be full of Bucks and he'll have nobody left to actually put on the court?

I don't post here very often, but I do browse this board daily. I know there are many of you who are opposed to the Skiles hiring, but for those of you who are, I just need to ask you one question:

Did you honestly think we were going to attract a better candidate for this job than Scott Skiles?

Here is a short list of some things we have going for us: a meddling owner with a pack full of cronies who don't know a thing about basketball; a max player who can't play a lick of defense and is more concerned about his scoring average than anything; an overpaid point guard who can't play a lick of defense and has a terrible attitude; an overpaid back up center who can't play period, and an overpaid small forward who has regressed significantly over the last few years.

Honestly, we should be ECSTATIC that we got a coach with a winning track record to even consider coming to Milwaukee.

I'd be surprised if Skiles would have even considered the job if Hammond hadn't been hired.

Scott Skiles' as I have said many times is an excellent head coach and the best fit for what this team needs right now.

A. Leadership
B. Discipline
C. Structure
D. Focus Driven Devotion

I see a lot of fans question Skiles and the fact he is not a guy who gets along with players nor stays in any job long. You also complain about chemistry...

Then you site Larry Brown and Rick Carisle as men who you would rather have who are not nearly the coach that Skiles is, nor what the Bucks' are in need of TODAY.

Sam Smith the great beat writer of the Bulls' who has seen Phil Jackson and Skiles says Scott will be a great coach for us.

I wholeheartedly agree. But I will tell you my reasons in depth when this is made official.

But for right now, he was my #1 choice as you saw me make him before all this went down.

I had a wait and see what they do with the GM and Head Coach before I would committ to season tickets or even bother coming back as a Bucks' fan!

Suffice to say, I will be VERY PLEASED indeed when this is made official.

Good day... :D

Good point. I also think that Bogut going into his fourth year is a factor compared to after Porter's dismissal when established winning coaches were running FROM Bucks' calls. It is interesting to see how many head coaches lose their jobs within two/three years of an overall number 1. Coaches know the unrealistic expectations that come from the overall number one. And now with some seasoning and above average performance Bogut is an attraction to an established coach and not something to be avoided (as as shown, for good reason).

Absolutely shocked is probably more like it. No way Skiles even interviews with the Bucks if Hammond isn't around.

This is the process. Kohl hires a higher quality GM. That enables the Bucks to hire one of the top head coaching candidates available. Now the team needs to add a higher quality of player. That's the next step. But the first two critical components are now in place.

Let's hope Kohl, Walter, Burr and Steinmiller allow that to happen. I'm more optimistic than I was two weeks ago, that's for sure.

I was a bit skeptical when Skiles' name was being mentioned but after reading up on Skiles the past couple days I realy like the hire.

I don't know if those Bulls fans where trying to make Skiles look bad with those reports about Skiles' past criticisms of certian players. But when you look at the players involved in those criticisms like Tim Thomas & Crawford & Curry like you mentioned I agree it makes you like Skiles as a coach even more.

Those reports actually sold me on Skiles.

Like you said Xtitan Skiles doesnt like low IQ lazy players that have a playground mentality.

If you made up teams with all the players Skiles has criticized I swear you'd have the ''all chump'' 1st 2nd & 3rd teams, and Mo & Redd will soon be the captians of those teams.

If this move is finalized, I hope Hammond is ready and willing to make the moves necessary to acquire the players who are tough enough to play for him.
