Magic fans dislike Bianchi so much because instead of reporting on the Magic, he overgeneralizes things in an attempt to reach the non-fan; i.e. - the ones who couldn't tell you who's on the team, but will pull for the Magic if they're doing really well.
If things are going right, he acts/writes like a fan. If things are going bad, he doesn't want anything to do with the team, and he lets the non-fans know why they shouldn't either. "Eww...[insert team] sucks. They won't be good until [insert whatever] happens. They don't deserve our attention."
He enforces, then reinforces, fair-weather fan behavior, and it's terrible. He does this with practically every team he covers in-state. When the going's good, Bianchi is there to join in. When the going's bad, Bianchi is basically there to let everyone know why they should quit being a fan until things are good again.
Instead of being a fair and consistent sports writer, Bianchi errs on the side of "Look at me!! READ MY ARTICLE CUZ IT'S CONTROVERSIAL AND WILL MAKE YOU MAD AND TALK ABOUT IT LOL!!!!!!" And what are we doing? Talking about it. People knowing his name is more important than quality and credibility to this particular sports writer.
