Mike Bianchi quote: Call me an idiot

Go ahead and let me have it.

Roast me.

Ridicule me.

Call me an idiot.

An imbecile.

This is one time I absolutely will relish your scorn and derision.

If the Magic making the playoffs is wrong, I don't want to be right.

Amen brother!

O-Sen Link

Now, for the first time in a long time, that old-time feeling is coming back. After all the missteps and missed opportunities; after all the wasted draft picks and bad trades; after all the Shaqs, T-Macs and Fran Vazquez wisecracks, you once again can believe in Magic.

So now Bianchi has hopped on the bandwagon, it's OK to be a Magic fan?

Excuse my french but **** off. Bianchi, you're not important. Please move along.

Haha, Bianchi usually jumps on the bandwagon by March, surprised it took him so long this season.

There was this Mike Bianchi article in the Sen saying that he's not a hater because he thinks Magic are gonna go out in 2nd round vs. Pistons its just being realistic. And he got that from a comment from his other blog. And the comments to that article was with a few ppl saying he's a horrilbe writer. I was laughing.

I wish he would have waited until the Magic made it past the 1st round to do this. If he jinxes us, I'm gonna be pissed

He'll be back to publically destroying the Magic and urging the fanbase to jump ship once we go through another dry spell.

I couldn't care less what Bianchi says/writes. He's all show, little substance.

Here you have the definition of a fair weather fan. We don't want you back Bianchi.. just keep on hating. Who gives a ****.

Edit: Oh and this is why the idiot has a job.. he writes stupid **** and we sit here and discuss what he writes every single time. Like it or not, what he does works.

Magic fans dislike Bianchi so much because instead of reporting on the Magic, he overgeneralizes things in an attempt to reach the non-fan; i.e. - the ones who couldn't tell you who's on the team, but will pull for the Magic if they're doing really well.

If things are going right, he acts/writes like a fan. If things are going bad, he doesn't want anything to do with the team, and he lets the non-fans know why they shouldn't either. "Eww...[insert team] sucks. They won't be good until [insert whatever] happens. They don't deserve our attention."

He enforces, then reinforces, fair-weather fan behavior, and it's terrible. He does this with practically every team he covers in-state. When the going's good, Bianchi is there to join in. When the going's bad, Bianchi is basically there to let everyone know why they should quit being a fan until things are good again.

Instead of being a fair and consistent sports writer, Bianchi errs on the side of "Look at me!! READ MY ARTICLE CUZ IT'S CONTROVERSIAL AND WILL MAKE YOU MAD AND TALK ABOUT IT LOL!!!!!!" And what are we doing? Talking about it. People knowing his name is more important than quality and credibility to this particular sports writer.

I think much of Orlando would agree with this statement.
