LOL OMG @ #4. Are you serious? People would probably spin it another way too, KOBE didnt mention LO or a possible return of Bynum. He should of said a great 1-2-3 punch and a possible 4 punch combo!
I wonder what people would say if KOBE came out and said "I'd pick Gasol over KG. KG don't play defense".

it isn't like he's Sebastien Telfair or something..everybody realizes how good Kobe is..
Lol, this holds a lot validity coming from you.

Thanks for all of your in depth insight. I was going to comment in the Heat Playoff match-up thread but I couldn't find it for some reason. Have fun in the lottery
Thanks wish we could never miss the playoffs like kobe and the lakers

You're actually one of the very few Laker fans pleased with his play yesterday. The Lakers played their best with him on the bench, he almost shot them out of the game and got the majority of his points when the game was already over late in the 4th. Shooting 9 for 26 with 1 assist won't get the Lakers too far.
Why the hell are you even here?

I saw it a different way. He took maybe 3-4 what I consider bad shots. But I thought his shot total was way too high because he obviously was shooting terrible so he should have just moved the ball around or drove in the lane. When you're shooting 25%, even an open shot is a bad shot at that point so you drive the lane and get ft's.
However, to use this one game to show that he isn't MVP is ridiculous. Just like using one fabulous game to show why he should be MVP is ridiculous. The Lakers were not always this good this season, but Bryant's been there to steady the ship all season. The MVP isn't a "without him the ship would sink" award. Otherwise lets give it to Andre Miller.
Read the post I responded to. You are clearly just looking at my post generally, which isn't true.

Nuggets go bigger and try to find a way to get Camby involved. If Camby continues to suck it, look for Najera to get additional minutes. Kleiza will probably start and Carter's minutes will probably (or hoepfully, at least) be limited primarily to backup PG when AI is not in the game.

J.R. Smith or Kleiza should probably be starting in Game 2, both of them had a real impact of the offensive end, plus the lack of size is apparent
Marcus Camby needs to actually show up on the defensive end and not let Gasol dominate the glass like that. Well in all honesty, the whole team needs to show up on the defensive end...the Nuggets were just pretty much trying to go shot for shot instead of actually trying to get a defensive stop in the 4th.
The Nuggets didn't really take advantage of a subpar game from Kobe, and unless they step up the d, I don't see Kobe going 9-26 again anytime soon.

1) Pack it in - Denver should give the Lakers the open three rather than allowing them to go inside. Lakers are at their worst when they are taking too much threes. Now this is easier said than done as I have never seen the Lakers go empty at three in big games and Denver does not have anyone to stop Kobe from posting up unless they sacrifice interior defense.
Other than that I do not see how the Nuggets can win. They can catch the Lakers play uninspired basketball and get a 17 point lead before they wake up. But if both teams play inspired games it will be over for the Nuggets in the 3rd quarter. Nuggets' undisciplined defense will not catch up with the Lakers (which I think has the most disciplined offense in the league sans Kobe's black hole shooting).
I do not think Denver has anything that they can throw at the Lakers that they won't figure out.

I'm still scratching my head over how George Karl lets a team play such pathetic defense in the playoffs.
When LA was moving the ball they looked amazing. They were racking up the assists and Denver looked like puppets.
I'd say their only hope is to discover their D or bait Kobe into playing solo ball and hoping it lasts the entire game.

Yeah, but thats a huge risk as well. The Nuggets forced the Lakers to beat them from 3 in their previous games and the Lakers came up big, with Fisher and Radmonovic playing ungodly in 2 of the 3 games and the whole team hitting 3's in the other.
I think Denver has to go bigger, with Kleiza starting at the 2 (but playing the 4 defensively). With Kleiza in there the Lakers wont be able to get any mismatches on switches and they will have better 3 pt shooting.
Nene coming back would also be huge, providing them with a body that can keep Pau out of the paint.
Ultimately both teams have a lot of room for improvement, but I think the Nuggets are more likely to at least keep it closer in the next game. If they can get even mediocre free throw shooting and better than 20% from the field from their front court (which normally scores at around 50%), they will be right in the mix.
On the other hand, everyone on the Lakers played a near flawless game with the only exceptions being Kobe and Fisher. So while 80% of the Lakers played at their best, only 2 players on the nuggets were at a high level (Kleiza and Smith). That leads me to believe the next game will be a heck of a lot closer.

Lakers have to many 3 point shooters, if Radmon is cold you got Sasha or Fischer or Farmar, if the Lakers are getting open 3s one of those guys will be bound to go off. Also, if Denver gives the Lakers the 3 that greatly increases the chance of the Lakers absolutely blowing them out, if 2 or 3 of those guys are having good shooting nights; Denver can pretty much pack it in.

It's basically "pick your poison".. You can have Kobe go off on you, You can have Gasol or Lamar go off on you, You can have our shooters go off on you, Or you could just have a full blown gangbang with the whole team getting some of the action.

I expect him to get to the finals at the very least as he has the homecourt advantage throughout the west.
