lol, Dirk's words, while can be argued as "soft," is hardly anything to get riled up about.

In fact, it may be the most neutral "bulletin board" material ever. But whatever, gets people up for the "extra motivation," if they need an obvious statement to get up for the playoffs.

I don't find it surprising that the OP is a Nuggets fan trying to critique Dirk for this comment. Whether you say that or not, you know that deep down in every Nuggets and Mavs player that they would rather face the Hornets than the Lakers. No disrespect to the Hornets who I'm rooting for and hope they do well, but common on, the Lakers are the tougher opponent for both the Mavs and Nuggets.

As to the comments from AI, LOL. Acting tough and ghetto only gets you so far...It still doesn't change the fact that he would rather face the Hornets than the Nuggets, but they didn't have the choice. The MAVS did.

Of course AI wants to play the Lakers. Either the Lakers or the Hornets would've been a sweep, and AI gets to put up impressive stats burning Fisher this way while the poor frontcourt gets annihilated by Odom and Gasol. This way, AI can take less blame for losing the series.
