Dumars would be dumb to fire Saunders.

Any interest in the reigning and defending coach of the year Sam Mitchell? The Raptors are prepared to fire him this offseason.

Rather, they should be blaming it on Joe Dumars, keeping old guys around instead of trading them while their value is relatively high. Joe is overrated by Piston fans and I talk to these loonies everyday here. The truth is they were overrated. Most of their best players are on the wrong side of 30. Those guys are never going to improve. He handed Flip an old aging team that got some nice young players on the bench.

You fail to realize that the Pistons team of 03-04 was one of the youngest teams to ever win the NBA championship. That was only 4 years ago. And we've gotten younger... a lot of youth coming off the bench. So I'd say your point is pretty invalid. Not to mention Rip and Prince are still under 30.

Well, at least we aren't Cleveland... seriously... Indians, Cavs, Browns... ouch.

I think the problem with breaking up our team is deciding who should go. I can't imagine Rip being as good without Chauncey, and no way were getting rid of Prince. So all that really leaves is McDyess and Rasheed and I don't see any way for us to improve or even rebuild by getting rid of those two. And I don't like the idea of getting rid of Rip because hes in his prime and will be good for at least the next 5 years.

As much as i hate detroit, i have ot admit that starting 5 is something to reckon with, the Pistons need a strong 6th man bad. Although Flip used the bench a lot more this year, the bench still doesnt have that one player that will give a spark, which means theres always got to be 2 starters on the floor at all times. Pistons could use a ricky Davis or someone that brings consitent scoring without needing a starter to create for them.

^Rodney Stuckey was more or less drafted to be that person.
Jarvis Hayes can ONLY provide offense, too.

They'd be the Atlanta Braves of the NBA.

dont think pistons are going anywhere...dont know if they're gonna beat philly as a matter of fact..

I truly believe Orlando/Toronto will beat hte pistons in the 2nd round..if they get there...

that's the end of their season and the end of Flip Saunder's coaching in Detroit
