Classy...
We were talking about how much we disliked ESPN columnist Jemele Hill last week (she's also a unabashed Boston-hater). Check this article out about the favorite NBA playoff moments:
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/st ... a/memories
In particular this is her recollection:
"Jemele Hill:
There will be an understandable amount of wrenching from folks in Detroit over my favorite NBA playoff memory. But whenever I think of it, I'm reminded of something Al Pacino said in "Any Given Sunday": "

Hatred lasts forever? What kind of grudge is this
Personally, I don't respect grudgers at all, get over it, that play happened over 20 years ago. I'm not sitting here grudging about losing the 87 Finals, the Charlotte Hornets beating us in the playoffs in the 90's, or grudging over the Nets and Pacers beating us in the playoffs earlier this decade. This makes me laugh.

^^I agree dude, and not only that, her thinking that walking off the court in 1991 was "awesome" shows what kind of person she is. She probably thought Isiah's freeze-out of Jordan in the 1985 All-Star game (due simply to Thomas' **** lame jealousy of Jordan) was great, too.
Nice values, Jemele!

Hatred lasts forever she sounds as mature as Areneas does.
He's still going out there everynight to prove every team wrong.
If I'm not mistaken though didn't the Wizards have a first round pick that year and could of selected Areneas? If so maybe yesterdays 30 point loss and him shooting 20% was a form of revenge.

Wow.
I never liked Ms. Hill's articles. I definitely notice her anti-Celtics bias, and I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the Celtics were the "white" team in the 80s, as well as the perceived aura of racism that still surrounds the team (unjustified) and the city (justified until about 15-20 years ago).

Oh yeah! That was absurd: here we have the first black male ever to be on the cover of Vogue, and she goes and makes those "King Kong" comparisons that I guarantee no one else thought of when they saw the cover. Ridiculous.

Isiah showed that day exactly who he was and continues to be. That is why many Boston fans who have no trouble showing their respect for Jordan, Magic, and whatever honorable opponents we have faced show so little towards him.

Right on.

Look at all the degenerate behavior Isiah has had over the years. Freezing Jordan out of the 1985 All-Star Game, saying Bird was only thought to be great because he's white, the poor-sport walk-off in 1991, all his sleaziness in his playing days, and then the debacle in Toronto, the debacle in the CBA, the debacle in Indy, the mega-debacle in NY.
But Bird and Jordan and others don't forget...they kept him off the Dream Team, Bird fired him in Indy, I'm sure there are other examples.
You reap what you sow, Isiah, and you've sowed a LOT of ill will over the last 25 years.
And as for Ms. Hill, what an idiot. Did anyone read Jason Whitlock's column tearing her "LeBron as King Kong" **** to shreds? Whitlock is usually right on in his articles and that one was no exception.
And again, it goes to show, nice values coming out of Detroit, Ms. Hill, thinking the most embarrassing display of poor-sportsmanship and childishness in recent NBA history is "awesome" to you. The Pistons get beaten fair and square by an opponent they had handled in previous seasons, so they act like bratty 6 yr olds. Funny, I didn't see the Celtics doing that when the Pistons finally dethroned them in 1988. And trust me, Boston **** *HATES* Detroit.
So there you go!
