Hey, it could happen. I don't think it's likely, by any stretch. But let's somebody throws a package at us that's too good to be true. With Andrew's injury history, you'd be foolish not to at least consider it. The bottom line is, with Odom and Gasol playing so well, we at least have options. As long as it makes the team better, I'd trade anybody -- including Kobe.

Not sure what to make of that. The article almost made it sound like it's Bynum who's being overcautious in order to protect his payday.

So you read the whole article....I did too. I agree with you. It almost sounds like Bynum and his "camp" are looking out for his big payday. He flew to NY to his own doctor, has HIS trainer wrap is knee and not the laker trainers, whats going on? It kinda sounds like the laker staff are trying to get him back but Bynum and his people are saying screw you. Phil has always been tough on guys in regards to injuries. He expects you to play with a little bit of pain....if you can. He use to tease Kwame all the time about not coming back sooner. I think the laker staff kinda told him that to an extent you have to play with a little bit of pain, and he is saying no.

Same impression I got. There was also a comment in there about the Lakers not wanting to alienate him, which leads you to believe they're basically letting him do his own thing.

I can't say I blame Andrew for looking out for his future -- he hit the genetic lottery, and he owes it to himself to cash in -- but still. If true, you'd like to see him put a little more emphasis on the team.

Oh well, more speculation, and precious little hard information. All I know is, I'd be stunned to see him back in uniform, making a legitimate contribution, this season.

"I think without a doubt that Andrew would come off the bench and we would play him a little bit off the bench if there was any chance that he could come back and play again, but it's such a remote thing," he said. "We're not seriously thinking about it."

I think Bynums injuries in the past are going to be brought up when they offer him a contract. If they cant agree i definitely see a trade going down then.

At second thought, the argument could be made that this is a Phil style teasing jab at Andrew. Sort of like, "Since he's such a sissy, I'm not sure he'll crack the starting rotation should he decide his p*** doesn't hurt anymore".

Again, I'm not ruling out his return until it's officially a done deal.
