trade EC for expirings (or one year contract) and a late lotto pick
trade JC for expirings (or 1 year contract) and a mid to late first
can "throw in" Nate Balkman or Collins if makes the pick better.

I don't think that CUrry can be traded right now, not becuase he isn't worth anything, but because his value has been so eroded. Askyourself this- what would he have been worth at the end of last season after he ad a career year?. Is there a player in this draft draft that is a guaranteed 20 ppg NBA player? If the history of the draft has taught us anything it's that the draft is hit or miss and that the rebuilding process has the use the draft in part, not rely on it.

Crawford and Curry are two guys on this team that could actually have value, Crawford in the short term, Curry if he can come back and have a good first half of next season. Youalso talk about throwing in Nate qas if he's an afterthought. My opinion is that there are teams that would be happy to have him coming off the bench for them. He's proven he can provide instant energy and that he can score, something that again is valuable when you're talking about the uncertainty of draft picks vs. proven NBA players.

It might be a different story if there was a dominant big man in the upcoming draft. My beleif is that first and foremost, this team needs a defensive center than can rebound and block shots. If such a player was available i'd put together any package to get him. As things stand now I'd rather stand pat than trade proven NBA players for uproven prospects, especially guys that are projected to be late lotto picks or worse.

At the end of last season, if Isiah was smart and followed my advice, he could have traded Curry for a very good player as well as some draft picks.

Hinsight is 20/20. It mightbe that his value at the end of last season was as high as it would ever get, but there was no way to really know that, and had he traded him he would have gotten killed becuase of what he had given up to get him.

hmmm, there's a joke in there somewhere. I think most people thought Chubby turned the corner last year, at least I did. I didn't think that he'd regress into a worthless pile of sh*t.

But I concur with Ignitowsky's comment. You wouldn't get fair value for Curry right now - Randolph has the better trade value, imo.

I told you so. Guys like Curry and Crawford who can't motivate themselves to improve their weaknesses will never be good. After 7 years in the league, if these boys were going to be good, they would have been good by now. Look at T. Chandler, it took him less than 6 seasons to develop.

The hell with fair value. This fat unmotivated bastard doesn't have a fair value. The only thing that motivates Curry is his next contract.

the best chance was to hire Skiles so that Curry would opt out after this year. That woulda made Skiles worth hiring in itself.

When I say "fair value," I guess I'm fantasizing that somehow some way, we could get back one of those two #1 picks that douche bag dealt to Chicago for him.

Tyson Chandler came into the league as a rebounding shot blocker who could catch lobs but had no other offensive game to speak of at which point did he develop these weaknesses ? Or do the Hornets not worry about his weaknesses and play a game that emphasizes his strengths ?
