it's proven that barbs doesnt have any play selection... all he does is try to outrun the opponent and make a forced shot. maybe thats ok, or even optimal against weak opponents in the regular season, but not in the playoffs.
another point, barbs does not play well in important games or decisive plays. and thats not only with suns. hes been choking as usual with the Brazilian national team where he is supposed to be the leader of the team.
and yeah, i still think barbs is a better player than giri, but at least giri let nash and the others take care when it really matters, and doesnt try to make crazy plays at important moments.

And it's not so much the crazy plays, it's the ones he's NOT making that are what most NBA fans deem 'basic'. I don't remember the last offensive foul he drew or even tried to draw. I don't see how a guy with his crazy arm length and quickness ISN'T a better defender...

TASTIC wrote:^Yeah that's what I think. He can put the ball on the floor and shoot the midrange, though obviously without the acrobatics/athleticism of Ginobili.
At least when Giricek corrals a rebound and brings it up you don't hold your breath and actually LOOK at who he's going to run over/how he's going to be trapped by the opposing team like you do with Barbosa.
I think Barbosa has high trade value now, a team like CHA or POR could use him to put next to Felton/Roy respectively...both have lottery picks and cap space...Seriously though, would ANYONE want to help POR? they're going to be HUGE with Oden back anyway
