I'd like to see the Redd for McGrady talks revived....

An even up swap would be good to see and to me the ultimate we could hope for.....given T-mac's crash job in the playoffs, Houston might decide they need to do something differently.

Thats the only kind of Redd trade I could swallow at this point.

They could certainly sell T-Mac to the fans and it would certainly be a talent upgrade. I think the original was Redd/CV for T-Mac and Bonzi.

Perhaps this offseason it could be Redd/CV for T-Mac and Landry.

That would be a great trade.

That is interesting. I hope we can clear out some deadwood for late 1st's. Just add some young depth while starting over. It would be nice to know what is in the pipeline, but I imagine it would be too early for things to be set in stone.

As much as a Redd for T-Mac trade would be great for us, I just can't see Houston messing with the chemistry they have. Get back Yao and add in another solid off-season and that team could be scary next year. It is so close to clicking and I can't see why the Rockets would shake that up. Even though they are under performing in the playoffs, they are under manned with bigs and playing a solid Utah team.

The Rockets without TMac and with Redd are a mid-lottery team. No way they make that deal.

Seriously if he really believes only one weak defender can be on the court at any one time and still allow for good defense, 2 out of Mo, Redd, and CV have to be gone and anyone of those guys can net you a decent first rounder in the right type of deal.

Yeah, I think Mo and CV will be traded this year. I'm not sure what the Yi situation will be, especially if he can't get in the weight room and add some upper body strength. I'm unsure how long Hammond and Skiles are willing to wait. We will need to get someone at least serviceable when CV is gone. I'm still liking Mo for Haslem. At any rate, something will have be done at the 4 after CV's departure.....

Got this from NEWSBLAZE.COM

MELBOURNE, Australia, April 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -

The recently completed 2007-2008 Season was an overwhelming success for Bogut, in which Bogut ranked #11 in the NBA in rebounds per game (9.8); #9 in the NBA in Blocks Per Game (1.73); and #12 in double-doubles with 38.

"With the recent hiring of new General Manager John Hammond and new Head Coach Scott Skiles, and (team owner) Senator Kohl's statements that he is committed to making the Bucks into a winning organization, it is my hope and desire to remain in a Bucks' uniform for many years to come. The main thing is I like what I heard from John Hammond about the direction the Bucks are moving towards. We all want to win next year and I know the fans want to win. I have come to love Milwaukee and its fans, I have adopted it as my home, and I would like to be here long-term," said Andrew Bogut.

"As for any negotiations, I leave all business matters to my agent David Bauman. As David explained the rules to me, if we are successful in agreeing to a long-term contract extension on July 1, which is my hope, I would not be able to sign a contract until July 9, 2008, at the earliest. Given my commitment to the Australian National Team, I told David if we are going to agree to a new deal to get it done quickly with Mr. Hammond and Senator Kohl, so that I can join my Australian teammates and put any contract thoughts behind me," Bogut continued.

"I do not anticipate any major issues with the Bucks this summer. I have a great relationship with new-General Manager John Hammond, as well as with team owner Senator Kohl. Andrew has improved each of his three years in the NBA, and he has established himself as one of the top young centers in the NBA and a key component of the Buck's future. Andrew's goal is to remain withMilwaukee for the long-term, and to turn them into a winning team, and we have heard nothing but positive things from the Bucks. Yesterday's hiring of Scott Skiles is yet another positive step in the right direction for the Bucks franchise," said David Bauman, Bogut's agent and President of Hoops Management.

"Andrew is very patriotic and passionate about playing for his country and he will do everything in his power to ensure that he is ready and available for the Olympics. Unfortunately the delay in joining the Boomers for their training camp is out of his control. I am confident that this will be resolved in time for Andrew to join the Boomers in camp back inAustralia by mid July," said, Bruce Kaider, Director of One Management Group & Consulting.

BasketballAustralia Chief Executive Scott Derwin acknowledged Andrew's commitment to the team, "Whilst we would have liked Andrew to be with us for the entire duration of our Olympic preparation, we fully understand the steps he must take to ensure the best outcome for his career in the NBA. It will be great to have him back in the green and gold come July and inBeijing for the Games."

Austuf...that's probably a new thread you could start on the Bogut comments.....while not "new" they are definitive....

Essentially he's saying "show me the money" and I'll sign an extension asap after July 1st.

I certainly hope we don't start the season with Mo at point. I would like to wait on CV and Redd to see how they go under skiles. I would hate to trade CV only for him to actually find some defense and consistency at another team. But he should be played at 3 not 4. We need a strong defensive pf to compliment bogut. I would like to see the team start like this
C Bogut/ ?
PF Draft/ Trade
SF CV/ Yi
SG Redd/ Bell
PG Draft/trade/ Sessions

nah! this thread should be stickied as our player movement thread.

I also don't see the "show me the money aspect".

I interpreted that as "if the deal is reasonable, I'd sign right now"

I would be happier if he was taking a more direct involvement in the negotiation as Agent's are scum and try to increase their client's bank balance for the sole purpose of increasing their own, regardless of the future harm it can cause their client.

What Pistons team did you see? Year one of the rebuild, alone;

Out were- Lindsey Hunter, Grant Hill, Loy Vaught, Christtian Laettner, Jerome Williams, Eric Montross, and Terry Mills.

In were- Ben Wallace, Chucky Atkins, Dana Barros, Mateen Cleaves, Brian Cardinal, Joe Smith, Corliss Williamson, Billy Owens, Cedric Ceballos, and John Wallace.

Then it kind of slowed down and was very "surgical", going after only things that made a lot of sense.

John Wallace and Jud Buechler became Clifford Robinson in year two. Also, Cleaves was traded for Jon Barry and a 1st round pick ( i still can't figure out how Joe pulled that one off).

Year 3, was crazy luck. Stackhouse and filler became Rip Hamilton and filler. Rodney White (the year before the Piston took him as a lottery pick) was traded for Mengke Bateer*, a 1st round pick, and Don Reid.
*Bateer was traded two days later for a 2nd round pick.

So basically, don't be suprised to see some quick moves....and don't be suprised to see guys get traded that you thought would be Hammonds' "building blocks".

I don't see any manor moves. Maybe Mo could be traded if his problems with Bogut and others will not disappear; his contract isn't that difficult to move too.

IMO, moves will happen and they will happen fast as in "this" offseason. How can any competent businessman (Kohl) trot out a roster anything similar to the pitiful outfit the fans were forced to watch this past season?

You can't trot out the same core band of underacheivers and expect to retain your fanbase. Mo and CV will be moved. Skiles may want to hang on to Redd simply because he's an offensive security blanket. If he wants to take a chance on hiding a poor defender or improving his defensive play, it would probably be Redd out of all of the usual suspects.

Our new GM just got a new toy and he wants to play with it. My prediction is that you can expect stuff to start going down on draft night.
