THINK ABOUT THIS:
Kidd makes 19,728,000 this year and 21,372,000 next year.
Nash makes: 11,375,000 and 12,250,000 next year with a team option on Nash for 13,125,000
With Dallas far over the luxury tax this year and more than likely far over the luxury tax next year a Dallas will have to pay around $16,706,000 more than Nash's salary with lux tax included this year and probably $16,494,000 next year.
This totals: $33,200,000 more in money spent on Kidd in these two years alone than Nash would have cost with lux tax included.
This $33,200,000 more that you are paying Kidd with lux tax included than Nash's salary with lux tax included would have paid for Nash's salary the past 3 years....
I'm not trying to kick a team while they're down, but Kidd sucked on the court today while Nash is still playing solid bball. Of all the times Cuban chose to be cheap, you gotta wonder why he chose to be cheap with Nash. I mean the guy's paying Dampier almost as much as Nash!

While I do miss the days of Steve Nash in Dallas, what people dont realize is that he would not have had those numbers in Dallas had he been re-signed. To be honest, id rather have Devin on my team than Kidd or Nash right now... This team need defense, and thats something that only Harris brought out of that group.

Well at the time, Cuban thought that Nash's injuries were going to be piling up non-stop in the future and his career would be over. Cuban stated that he saw Nash many times after a game just hobbleing around with ice packs on his knees, shoulder, and back, and didn't think Nash would last.
That is pretty amazing number crunching you did though, if it is accurate.
In total effect, we could have had:
Steve Nash
Antawn Jamison
DeSagana Diop
Maurice Ager
Trenton Hassell
Our 2008 1st Round Pick
Our 2010 1st Round Pick
$4 million in cash

Jason Kidd

Malik Allen

all you have to say about cheap was Keith Van Horne and Eric Dampier... Instead of a two time MVP.
Whether his numbers would have been as good isnt the point. He became the most lethal floor general the game knew for 3 years. Thats all that mattered on was Nash worth it.
Devin please .... HE was shipped out cause he couldnt run the offense simple as that people. Avery was sick of telling him every move to make.
That being said I think DEVIN will make a HELL OF A GUARD for somoene ...
