for me, i cant really comment too much on the comparison because i don't know too much about coleman. But about sheed.....i hate the pistons, i hated the old trailblazers (im a laker fan lol), and i've never liked rasheed wallace because of this bias. I used to laugh when he got techs and kicked out of games....however, i've seen enough of him to know that he is a fantastic player. He's everything you want from a power foward in this nba. Hes got range, hes unstoppable inside, he rebounds, he anchors your d, he defends as well as anybody man-to-man in the post, and hes an unselfish passer. As a piece on a team and as an individual player for a team i'd say he is the third best power foward in the league (behind kg and td, so thats saying something.) i would prob take dirk and possibly amare if starting a team over sheed, but i think hes a more complete player that can fit into a team than those two, or anyone else (again, besides kg and td).

Neither was the player should have been, but in a different way.
Coleman was just a cancer and a stat hog, only in his last few years in Philly he was somehow useful.
Sheed was never the dominant player he could have been, deciding to be just a role player refusing to take over games, but still was good enough to be a very important part of some great teams.

I guess in a way, if you believe that Rasheed was the better player, I guess it can be conceded that he was the biggest underachiever too.
I think this is a telling statistic, especially since DC slowed down a lot towards the end of his career, while Sheed is still putting up pretty good numbers and Coleman still wins the stat comparison.
- I'd say - Peak, I'd take Coleman for a series.
but peak for a season, I'd have to give it to Sheed.
Coleman averaged something like 25 / 12 in a series against Cleveland where Cleveland was the clear favorite over the Nets, but DC played his arse off.
In terms of potential, while Sheed may not have lived up to his potential, I think DC wins the potential too.
Now, as far as best season, I'd take Sheed. Sheed gave some really good efforts in Portland, and he translated into more wins.
Best Career - Sheed wins again. I go with Sheed on this one.
Better D - Sheed by a LOT
Better rebounder - DC by a LOT.
In terms of talent / natural ability, I think I'd take DC. But in terms of better player, I gotta go with Sheed. DC was a beast, he had the ability to outplay guys like Boozer and David West without too much effort and he could hold his own against a healthy Brand in his prime. DC was a bigger waste.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!
As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.
