I would stop watching this team if Larry Brown was our coach.

Look, I know he's slightly an ****. But think it's been proven with this team.. Nice guys dont always finish first. How would he alienate 30 percent of people in suns org? What if he brought a championship to the city. Then what would people think about him?

We are all bitching about Mike D's late game coaching..

Who out there is available with better postseason experience with more rings?

Here's how I see it: as stupid as Mike can be, and as boneheaded as his decisions are, he runs a system that plays to his personnel's strengths.

Larry Brown needs a team full of gritty defenders to be successful....and the only guy who fits that description on our team is Raja Bell.

For the players that we have, Mike is the best coach for them.

The question then becomes whether or not the players we have can lead us to the title.

I am not on the "Fire coach D'Antoni" bandwagon quite yet. However, I am not totally apposed to Larry Brown as coach. He is a champion. Or we could always bring ol' Westphaul back.........

Well what stops us from becoming a team of gritty defenders? Are you happy with the nice finesse team we have now that is getting outted every year around this time?

If Larry Brown is into playing and developing a bench he'd be worth considering. I didn't like how he left NY and took his money and ran but who the heck knows what other good candidates are out there. We run into the same problems with our damn bench every freaking year here.

A player gets injured (this year it's Hill) and we have no freaking backup plan because nobody else ever gets developed and played. Of course, when you're playing the Salary cap game the veteran minimum option guys are nice because their so friendly on the salary cap.

I've said it before, If Coach D gets canned in the near future (at this rate I for one hope this summer) he's going to leave the Suns with a nice big pile of crap to try and fix for the next couple of years. I'm not into being a downer kind of guy but we as Suns fans see the same thing happen every year in the playoffs with one of our players getting injured or suspended and having nothing to fall back on. This falls on the Coach's plate and it's been his philosophy that we've crashed with every damn year come playoff time.

Larry has already said he misses coaching very badly and wants to coach again as soon as possible.

I think he's an intriguing choice.

He will automatically command the respect of the whole team; just look at his resume.

Plus, I think he's the perfect coach to keep Shaq motivated for these last 2 years of his career.

Larry is a HUGE fan of Shaq; he's been very complimentary towards him since way back in 1995.

After Orlando beat Indiana in the 1995 Conference Finals, he talked about how Shaq had already reached a level quicker than people expected.

And he destroyed Mutombo so badly in the 2001 Finals, that Larry said right after Game 5 that he had never seen a better player in his life than Shaq.

High praise, indeed. Shaq will WANT to play for this guy.

Although it seems that Mike and Shaq have a good relationship.

I like Coach Mike; I really think Grant's injury is the key factor here.

If he was healthy, I bet Phoenix would have won at-least 1 of these games.

He's just such a good all-round player...

But the # 1 goal this off-season is to get a good backup for him in-case he gets hurt again.

However, why not start Diaw at the 3? I like Boris. He can do a bit of everything.

Barbosa was horrific in Game 2. And Amare completely fell apart in the second half.

That's where Hill could have helped Phoenix; he could have picked up the scoring to make up for the fact that Barbosa and Amare couldn't get anything going in the second half.

I thought Nash was very solid and Shaq was GREAT.

Amare was also great, but he completely fell apart in second half.

If Hill was healthy, there would be no talk about firing D'Antoni because I'm sure Phoenix would have won at-least one of these games.

Diesel nice post. Alot of good points. The last point is what I have problem with and related to my post above. The fact is, the Suns are now by in large an older veteran team. Every year come playoff time we suffer an injury, suspension, dissappearing player (Barbosa) etc... and because of not developing a bench or other players to fall back on we keep getting screwed. This falls on Dantoni's coaching philosophy and quite frankly some of the contracts he gave out under his interem as GM (Diaw and Barbosa). I just feel we're relying on lady luck way to hard to keep a whole team of 30 + ers (outside of Stat, Barbs, and Diaw) injury free and we're getting burned once again. I for one believe that if we fall on our faces in the 1st round here there's going to be alot of other Suns fans other than myself wanting a new coaching regime.

As a Suns fan I want to see them right this ship, compete, and win this series. If they need to knock some opposing teeth out in the process I'd like to see that too. But this crap so far is not acceptable. OK, on to the bright side... :lol:

Brown, I don't know about that. I think that is too much of an extream for this team. hes a damn good coach I will say, but I think this team needs someone like Phil Jackson who coach's to his players strength in one way, but is also a good defensive coach.

i think our #1 priority in the off season should be to find more consistant back ups than diaw and barbosa. those two seem to fade at the worst times. our coach is fine. keep giri, dump barbosa and diaw, and have an entire year with shaq. also need to limit hills minutes next season.

Why dump Diaw and Barbosa?

Barbosa is very quick and provides good scoring when coming off the bench. I don't have a big problem with him.

And Diaw is extremely skilled; I like Boris. He's not a superstar or anything, but he's a very solid player.

I hope Coach Mike starts him at the 3 instead of Grant; Hill is clearly not 100%.
