Cuban desperately wants to trade JKidd for Baron

Post#1 » by Sid the Squid » Wed Apr 23, 2008 9:43 pm

this summer...I'm hearing this from my inner-body sources...

Does Big D have any more 1st round picks to trade?

How about Baron-Jack for JKidd-Josh?

How about just Kidd for Baron..I dont want Baron around our team anymore.I like that trade on it's own. They each have expirings, but heck, we should be able to get more out of this trade.

trading for Kidd = all-star seasons for Monta and Beans + all sophomore seasons for BWright

go for it. can your inner-body become the GM of warriors LF?

I'd do Kidd/Howard/Bass for Baron/Jack...then we can get the BPA with #14 rather than focusing on a PF.

Plus, who better for Monta to learn PG from than JKidd?

Biedrins/Kosta
Wright/Bass
J-Ho/Al
Ellis/Azubuike
Kidd/Belinelli

Just do Davis for Kidd..That will kill Dallas off for the next 5 years..Cuban will pay BoomDizzle major $$ and within minutes BD will turn into BoomFizzle.

I'd be down for a straight swap... but knowing Cuban, you can likely get a 2010 1st thrown in.. at the very least a pair of 2nds...

Kidd is a distributor, way more than Baron... a tough defender... I can't imagine (if the deal went down) anyone saying "Goddamnit Kidd, stop chucking!"..

That deal would be great as it would signal the changing of the guard... good distributing PGs are insanely helpful for developing players. Andre Miller and Earl Watson are underrated in that regard... the job they have done was phenomenal...

Do we really want a 30+ Baron on the team? I don't... Baron is going to be the type of PG where when he hits decline, it will be massive... hell he can barely stay in shape now, his supposed 'peak'.....

Here's hoping your inside man is on it, and we're not just basing this on a look

Take out the 1st and I'd think about it. People see the name Jason Kidd and think of the player he was 5 years ago, but he's not that guy anymore. Baron is clearly the better player at this point and going forward.

Still, as an intermediate step between resigning Baron long term and hoping for production to match the deal, and trading Baron in a rebuilding move this makes sense. Kidd keeps the team solid next year (but at his age there's no pressure to extend him long-term), while GS upgrades from Jackson to Howard.

They can keep Kidd, but I would take Brandon Bass off their hands in a second.

Bass is a garbage time maniac... all he is, is a career backup PF, at best...

Any trade for JoHo is garbage... Mavs aren't giving him up. Kidd, Terry, and Stack are going to be on the block, not him...

Exactly where I would want him behind Wright at PF. I've kept a close eye on Bass all season long and he's a great role player off the bench in the same mode as Paul Millsap and Jason Maxiell.

I wouldn't trade Baron Davis for Jason Kidd at this point in his career.

I would do the deal including Josh Howard and Stephen Jackson, however.

I'd do Kidd/Howard/Brandon Bass for Baron and Jack...Bass is exactly the guy we need behind BWright, Howard is a much more efficient scorer than Jack (and a better 2nd fiddle to Ellis) and Kidd would make everyone look like a f**king All-Star.

The only thing I'd want to do after that would be a Harrington for Mike Miller swap and draft Marreese Speights #14

Biedrins
Wright
Howard
Ellis
Kidd

Miller
Bass
Azubuike
Belinelli
Speights
Kosta

Lot of efficient scorers, ball movement, defense...

Okay...so if we're going to deal SJAX, I'd deal SJAX, Harrington,Kosta Perovic and Bukie for Joe Johnson, Marvin Williams and 2008 future 2nd round pick.

ATL does it to get some veteran experience-SJAX. Harrington provides some depth at SF/PF,size upfront with Perovic and defensive SG in Buki.

GS does it to get Joe Johnson who can confidently play at PG,SG or SF. It gives Nelly more versatility and create more of a mismatch.

Marvin Williams is young player with potential and could use a change of scenery. He could be another Harrington clone but I'd be willing to take that chance on a younger player that could be better fit for the W's.

Argh... Jason Kidd is OVERrated. Doesn't have near the talent that Baron has. I'll go ahead and say it: even at Jkidd's peak, he wasn't as good as Baron. You can't even say he didn't have enough talent around him to win a championship bc he did. Baron has the same court vision as Kidd, but doesn't use it as much. I'll give Kidd that. But Baron is hands down a better scorer, defender, rebounder, and clutch player. Kidd has the passing edge. They're both horrible shooters...but in the clutch Baron is in the upper echelon. Oh, did I mention Baron is younger too? As bad as Baron has played the last couple months, I'd rather have him in the playoffs than Kidd. Lets get some depth and see how our team plays out before we make bonehead trades. Lets face it, we like to bash Baron but he put in a S***load of minutes this year and didn't have the legs at the end...Duhon and Love for some relief please?

All I want is a smooth transition out of the Baron era... we've seen how messy it can get...

Kidd? He's a pass first PG who looks for good shots... we have 3 young players who are all about good shot selection... factor Baron out and we can get those players more good shots... whats the problem for developing them?

Kidd knows hes on his last legs... coming home, he may stay for pretty cheap and understand that Tay is the future at PG, and would probably assist him in getting there...

I really dig the initial trade... the worst thing we can do is wait for a Baron implosion and its eerily similar to NO Baron..
