Rondo Is Pretty Much The Man

Post#1 » by Datruth345 » Thu Apr 24, 2008 5:21 am

Pts 13.5
Rbs 6.0
Ast 8.5
Stl. 3.0
Fg% .600

the stats are all well and good, but the actual discrepency in the play of the two point guards has been so evident, you wouldnt even need the numbers

He has played great defense and genrally abused bibby on both ends of the court

Rondo is the man  ....but we all already knew that this post was even neccesary

i can't wait to see him in the upcoming matchups that may manifest themselves

As I pointed out in the thread referencing the Peter May column, he's led the team in FG% both games, has had pretty awesome stats overall, and his shut down his defensive matchup. :)

Can't wait for the next round. The matchup Rondo-Delonte will be in our favor, too.

I think Delonte is a very good point guard who is able to fill the stat sheet. But still Rondo is better. I think, hoever, we will sign Delonte in the off-season to be our combo guard of the bench (with one of House/Tony gone).

I'm routing for him for the finals MVP as well. It's truly been just the Big Three all year, and I'd love to see him get the recognition.

P2, have you no hope for Pruitt next year?

Okay, so I'm an embarrassingly big Rondo fan, but one more point, my favorite stat 2 games into the playoffs: Rondo's 17-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Wow, a long time since his early season no shows. He was so up or down through the first 20 games or so, but has had a great second half.

Been absolutely sensational this series.

The scary thing is if Rondo plays like this celts can't lose. Teams are goig to let rondo beat them. if he plays like this no one has a chance.

Delonte always was a poor man's Bibby. Bibby has slowed with age - and of course Delonte hasn't yet. But I think we have a huge matchup advantage there as Delonte isn't half as talented as Bibby was.

Now that Rondo can hit that medium range jumper - he is pretty much unstoppable out there - IMHO. That was a huge liability that he has cleared up. Not only will he help vs. Delonte - but down the road if we meet up with the Hornets or San Antonio - that will be a huge advantage against Parker and C. Paul.

I think though Detroit with Billups and Deron Williams with Utah present some problems for him at least on defense.

Rondo was incredible last night...I think he could be making "the Leap" this postseason into being an elite PG in the NBA.

But we need to see what he does against real playoff competition...still, he's been excellent all season.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I'd love to see Delonte back, but I don't see him leaving the cavs. I think we should get rid of house and allen and see whose available on the free agent market.

You chose to say this for your first choice? I can't wait to see what other basketball gems you're going to bestow on us in the future.

I've watched every celtics game this season and Tony Allen and Eddie House have been decent, but I feel we can do better. Tony Allen has a 1 to 1 assist to turnover ratio and as a guard whose supposed to be a playmaker when he's out on the floor this is unacceptable. Eddie House can do one thing, shoot, i think this has already been established, but why not see if we can get a vet who can get in the lane too. I want Delonte back because I like his game and I think he would be great with the big three on the floor. However, I honestly don't feel he's going to leave Cleveland.

dj don't let them get you down.

Right now their masturbating to pics of Rondo's hands so it's a little *hard* for them to acknolodge other players.

I believe we should dump TA in favor of West if we can. But I think we're just as likely to get a West-esque player in the draft with our first round pick. A good utility man.

Rondo's been playing as good as he can against the Hawks. And that's pretty good with 3 all-stars and the opposition is about a bunch of 12 years olds with a grampa and daddy.

I thought you meant Ray Allen, not Tony Allen. My bad. I agree on getting rid of Tony.

But I've been surprised at all the sudden Eddie House hate on the board the last few weeks...why, people?? :dontknow:

I agree, House has earned a spot on this team if he so chooses to be here next year. I don't understand the hate either.

Cassell will be back, and House will be too. That's mainly why I don't think we'll have the money to replace to grab West..but we'll probuly be filled at those positions anyways.

a guy that can consistently cover the Ricky Davis's though would be nice to find since Tony seems to no longer be able to this year at least. Hopefully we'll get the good Tony at the right time however.

Young Rondo has been very impressive. He has stepped his game up. He's a big reason that I think Boston has a bright future and will not be the Miami Heat in a couple seasons.
