What skills should each Buck focus on?
Assume the entire roster is coming back next year, and you get to tell them what to work on over the summer. Name not only the skill, but what they might do specifically to address it. Don't say things like "leadership" unless you know of some good drills that bump it up a notch.
Bogut - rework the jumper. Get somebody like Grover who knows how to teach proper form. Sometimes with guys like Marion or Childress, you accept their ugly form because you like the results. But when a guy has ugly form and ugly results, it's time to make a change. I'd like to see 500+ shots a day, every day, so that by the time camp opens, he will have taken over 50,000 shots with his new form. Focus on free throw line and closer, and worry about longer distances some other summer (or never).
Yi - lift some fricking weights! And do something to strengthen hands and learn to catch passes. I saw Luol Deng doing some drills with picking up rice that was supposed to build finger and hand strength. Maybe something like that. And get some mean sommabtch to throw hard passes at him at weird angles, so that he learns to catch them.
Villanueva - how do you address lateral quickness? Surely someone has thought of a way. Plyotechnic drills moving side to side with weights on? Call up that gym in Vegas that Mo went to and ask if they have anything for it.

Plyometric you mean? CV could definitely increase his lateral quickness with a variety of exercises (including plyos... lane slides with a weight vest/belt is probably along the lines of what you're thinking of), but I don't think it would make him much better at defense. He needs to completely go back to the drawing board on every aspect of his defensive technique. I think I said the same thing last offseason.

CV's problems start with his lack of affinity for the game. Are there drills for that?

Bogut - needs to work on the jumper and I would like to see him continue to get stronger as well and work on post moves. But a jumper should be priority number one since in theory it should help him at the FT line too.
Yi - Everything AdamCZ said I agree with here too.
CV - Learning how to pack to get his ass out of here unless he wants to magically grow up and get serious. Maybe we can do some Manchurian Candidate crap to him and brain wash him to be serious. Can that be considered training?
Simmons - Get in shape and somehow add lateral quickness, strength, and explosiveness. Then learn yoga and get into acupuncture or something. Maybe that will help him control his chi or something and it might help reduce injury.
Mase - He is what he is now. The best thing we can hope from him to help the team is to maintain his current game but maybe go learn how to be a better motivator for his teammates. I think he should study with Tony Robbins this off season and try to learn how to be a dynamic motivating leader like him. That would be helpful.
Redd and Mo - Please pack your bags or else learn what the word TEAM means. Maybe go to some team building seminars or something.
Bell - Bust your butt this off season. You got to this point working hard. Don't let yourself get lazy like last summer. Work on your handle to tighten it up a little more but work on explosiveness, strength, and shooting too. If you could be a more consistent deep threat with an explosive driving ability and the strength to handle getting bumped, you could round out your offensive game.
Sessions - Bust your butt in everything. We already know you can pass but I think you first step could be more explosive, I think you should get stronger so you can post up the Mo's of the world after he gets traded, and you need to work on developing your jump shot at all lengths. The great ones can often hit 3's, have a good mid range / pull up jump shot game, and can drive and finish at the rim. Work on all that stuff. And while you are at it, you might as well work on a killer pump fake like Sam I Am. That could be a nice weapon for you once you improve your shot to be a more consistent threat.
Everyone - Can work on defense which would be lateral quickness, play recognition, and positioning mostly. Most people go to the courts to play pick up games and work on their offense and don't take the other end as serious. Get it in your head that you are also practicing your defense and that you have to put in effort there as well. If you do it enough, it will become a habit and you won't have to think so much anymore about how to defend a certain situation. That's where everyone needs to be.

Yi should get a football throwing machine and catch wet footballs. Or if they have a basketball throwing machine,
, catch wet basketballs. He should also definitely hit the weights.
Bogut should hang out with Sessions and they should play horse all day everyday they are available to. They both need to work on hitting the midrange and possibly the outside shot.
Simmons should just work on his cardio and everything should come together for him. I think he could be the comeback player of the year if he gets his quickness back.
CV needs to be tutored by Skiles and should just be with him all the time. Wash his car, carry his groceries, pick up his kids from soccer practice, and of course learn how to play with intensity on both offense and defense.
Bell just needs to hit the gym and practice the game in pickup games against other ball players.
Mo and Redd should hang out with each other and just practice guarding each other all the time.
Gadzuric I don't think has any hope. Just keep the public happy by making appearances at Pick and Saves and Summerfest.

I know some people are worried about bogut missing valuable time to work on his game in the offseason by playing with the national team but I am looking forward to watching him. He knows he will be the leader of the team without doubt and he hasn't had that feeling since Utah, so I think a lot of confidence will come back and might even see him hitting that outside jumper. It will also do his confidence wonders if the team does well and he could come back into camp on a real high.

I have vague recollections of a quote from Bogut about him already reworking his technique, but he said it was a 2-year process. He wasn't too fussed about the first year results (season just past), but would expect it to improve next season.

Is the ugly fadeaway what he's switching to? I hope not. He was talking about his free throw stroke.....Bogut leans back on his jump shot, needs to stop that and just shoot with confidence...that is his biggest problem.
Sessions needs to work on his strength, jump shot, and he is very good at dribble penetration so a nice little floater would do him real good.

Andrew- Shoot mid-range shots repetitively while your Australian mentor is pushing you in your back with a blocking pad. That way you'll get in the habit of leaning into your shot instead of fading away.
Redd- figure out a diet and training routine that will allow you to stay lean permanently. You were svelte during your stint with team USA, but when the regular season started in Milwaukee, you were a doughy bastard again. If you lose the weight, then you can give more effort defensively, and not suck at the end of ballgames. Also, work on dribbling with your head up while staying aware of where the ball is moving. Once you learn that skill, maybe you can finally pass out of double teams, because your head is up and you can see the court. Instead of dribbling to the mid-court stripe to finally shake the pressure. Meanwhile, all but 4 seconds had bled off the clock, and it's dribble up jumper time.
Yi- take some of the "toughen up" pills that Bret Bielema gave to PJ Hill before this year's Outback Bowl. Turn back the clock 24 years ago, when you were born, and actually develop some coordination.
CV- Aversion therapy while you shoot 3-pointers. 29.7, 32.7, 33.7.....why do you shoot it so gol damn much? Also, buy Abraham Maslow's book, "The Farther Reaches of Human Nature", and learn about self actualization.

Nice. Those 'Bogut watchers' out there will know his form on his jumper definitely improved as the season progressed, to the point where he was confident enough to take 1 or 2 a game in the last month or so, which he hit at a decent clip. I tend to think he lost his form after putting on a fair bit of weight, but this should definitely be his number one priority, followed by continuing to work the low post moves and his FT shooting.
I'd love to see Sessions get beaten to death by a defensive coach all offseason, just a million stomp drills and lateral movement drills keeping his man infront of him, really toughen up his D.
Yi - strength moves at the bucket without doubt (which would require strength), passing drills, and defensive rotations.
Bobby - Lateral quickness, they just need to get him a personal athletic trainer for the offseason.
CV - They should employ Dennis Rodman to take him for daily defensive drills, the guys got nothing else to do except play poker.
CBell - jumper jumper and then some more jumper.
Redd should practice saying 'yes Lebron'.

I think there is a very special drill, in fact they have done studies ya know, 60% of the time it works all the time, its called a contract year. I have a call into Tim Thomas to try and confirm this info.

Would that work? I think he needs to set up a wall behind him. I like the idea though.
