Rafer or Yao- Who is more irreplacable in this series?

Ok Yao >>> Rafer

But Rafer is the only PG we have that is approaching starter material right now.

Whereas as we have upgraded our frontcourt this season (Scola and Landry for Juwan) to the point that Hayes is indisputably still only our 3rd best frontcourt player even with Yao out compared to last year when he was arguably our second best frontcourt player even with Yao healthy.
Scola is definitely starting quality, and Landry will start for some of the more marginal teams.

Coaching aside, our frontcourt has been averaging in the playoffs
2007: Yao+Hayes+Juwan+Deke = 34.5/22.5 rbs
2008: Scola+Landry+Hayes+Deke = 32/25 rbs

That is virtually no dropoff in the production. And if Landry keeps playing like we have seen in the last game, the numbers might even favour this season.

Whereas if Rafer was out for the season.....then we have nothing.

ok, cue Rafer turning over the ball 10 times next game
