I'm past the point of caring what D'Antoni says; I'm waiting for them to prove it on the court, but a part of me is glad that he's still espousing that crap/ I dunno....maybe it'll fire up the team.

seriously tho, its suggested here that dantoni is doing the wrong thing by saying we are going to bust them, i disagree, dantoni is expressing the confidence that he wants his team to feel also

he is talking big in the hope that the team will back him up, its a smart strategy and quite frankly he deserves credit for it when he could have easily said "yeah it will be tough to get out from 2-0 the sprus are a great team we respect them we might lose blah blah blah" i would rather he said "we are disgusted to lose to this team, we are better than them and we will prove it, see you after game 6 when we are preparing for the second round" etc

Finally coach steps up and puts the hammer down. Now hopefully our veterans go into rage'd mode. And better yet our young guys (Diaw, Barbosa, Amare) go into beastmode because our team doesn't seem to be playing with any fire right now.

This can be a great tactic if the coach doesn't use it much. Mike D doesn't. It puts the pressure on him in essence (the spotlight), and takes it away somewhat from his players. Worked for Jim Fassel on the Giants years ago (minus he got fired later on , but that doesn't matter). Go Coach!!

I'm going to level with everybody. I like D'antoni. I think he's a great coach. He knows 20 times more than any of us about his team. When he chooses not to sub players in or call time outs... I'm going to defer to him every time... Why? you might ask? Because he get's paid millions to coach the most entertaining team in the league and I don't.

First off, let me say this. I hate Tony Kornheiser... but he brought up a fantastic point about Mikey D the other day on PTI. It was not his decision to bring in Shaq. Sometimes we forget that the best offensive coach in the league was just thrown a curveball and asked to incorporate the largest man in the NBA into his run'n'gun offense. We got worse defensively... our only stop-gap is out with a groin injury and Nash has had the flu for two games!

C'mon guys! Get fired up!

The Knicks suck as an organization right now. I can't imagine trying to coach that team. Please don't compare Mike to Isiah, that just makes you look foolish.

The Knicks won't be good again until all of those contracts become expirings and they can lock up some good draft picks. LeBron will help alot when he joins the franchise.

Finally, it's not about whether or not we can or cannot criticize a coach. It's about having faith. There is no doubt in my mind that we should have won the ship last year. Is there any in yours? Would we be saying the same thing about Mike if we had won?

He's a championship caliber coach. Sometimes we get spoiled. He won't seem like a good coach to a lot of you until we have some other piece of garbage sitting at his desk. Trust me.

I don't have blind faith. Every coach has his flaws, some are just better at adjusting than others. Mike is offensively oriented... if this was the NFL he'd be an offensive coordinator. Live with it. You take the good with the bad.

The combo of Sarver, Kerr and D'antoni make one of the best organizations in the league. They really do.
