OT: What should the city of Houston do with the Astrodome??

Post#1 » by KiDdFrESh » Sat Apr 26, 2008 12:30 am

Serious question here for anybody who lives in Houston. What should we do with the Astrodome?? Its a historical monument, what the 8th Wonder of the World? The first "Dome" ever built for baseball. What do you think we should do with it? There is no way we should tear it down. Houston is a tourist attraction and I was thinking why dont we turn it into a Casino? That would be freaking sweet !!! Imagine all the money it would bring in? The World Series of Poker could be played here at times. A portion of the money could used towards Education or something like that.

IIRC having casinos in Texas is illegal.

Thats why people have to flock to the Louisiana border to gamble.

It's costing us a bunch of money just to keep the air conditioning running in there.

Last I heard they were looking at making it into a really, really big hotel. For all I know that idea flopped.

I was told they could sell the property to Indians and then a casino could be made of the Astrodome. All the casinos in LA are all owned by Indians as well arent they?
