OT: Vincent fired by Jordan / Larry Brown new CHA coach

Post#1 » by BassMaster » Sat Apr 26, 2008 5:19 pm

Larry Browns name has been brought up as a possible new head coach for the Bobcats.
Jordan has not been a very successful exec when it comes to running basketball teams. He is starting to sound more and more like Thomas. I know this is the Magic forum, but it is interesting to see what a rival to the Magic will do mainly with Jordan making all the calls.

Well, I know one thing: I don't want Larry Brown in my division.

I have to agree. And considering that the Bobcat's have quite a few players in place to cause some heartaches in the Southeast division with the right coach in place.

Brown is a great coach, let's get that straight. His character may be suspect, but he has the ability to really turn around Charlotte, who happens to have a great deal of talent conducive to his style.

I agree with all of the above posts. Now watch the great Jordan hire another dud instead of Brown.

Wiretap unofficially proclaims Brown will be the next coach of the bobcats.

i'm actually glad to see that Charlotte might finally be competitive. it'll help bring some credibility to the East finally.

Not so fast my friend. He is a good coach but has won 1 championship I believe in all of his 31,000 years of coaching. and that was with Detroits players in their prime who showed they could do it without Larry Brown.

Not saying he wont help but to say he will make them contend isnt written in stone.
My 2 cents is worth 5 cents.

This is no good. They probably won't challenge for the division but instead of the obligatory 3-1 against them, we might actually split the season series now.

Charlotte waaaaay underachieved IMO this season.

Brown there will make them at minimum more consistently competitive.

Beyond that, who knows?

I thought LB doesn't play well with young players ...

Oak, Felton, May, Morrison, etc ...

He doesn't play with kids when he has adults on hand. This time, he'll need to learn how to play with kids again (that's really his strong suit IMO).
