Is it just me, or does the kid have potential to become Ron Artest with a) less crazy, and b) Something that resembles a jumpshot? With that kind of ceiling, even at say 1 chance in 5 of getting close, why is he being projected in the 2nd round? Even if he doesn't get there, he's still gonna be a decent 6th or 7th man (a la Bonzi Wells)...

Right now Walker would be an absolute steal based on where most of the mocks have him going (mid 2nd round). What people are not mentioning is that Walker has an NBA body, is extremely strong and athletic and does play with a chip on his shoulder. I think he's more of a Corey Maggette mold (not as athletic especially with the knee problems) but same type of body and offensive skillset.

Walker has lost a lot of quickness. The times I've seen him play at KSU, he doesn't show the athleticism to simply out run and out quick his defender. His shot has a funny form on it. But, he can be aggressive and strong. If he can regain some of that elite athleticism, then I can see him becoming a very effective NBA player.

Walker is a steal anywhere outside the top 20 because of his ability and the way he scores. He relies on the three to much, but at the next level the Maggette/Wells comparison of posting people up on the block and giving good scoring off the bench right away will be how he contributes on the floor. A team I think that would like Walker is New Orleans, they lose Wells and replace him with a cheaper option and Pargo/Walker/Wright is an athletic second unit that can get out a R U N.
