Suns haven't beaten the Spurs twice in a row in the playoffs, ever. They certainly can't win 3 in a row, let alone 4.

^^The most depressing thing for me as a fan is that I see so many teams that seem (at the moment) to have a brighter future than the Suns. The Suns players for the future (Amare, Barbosa, Boris) all have question marks around them. We have very few draft picks over the next three years. We haven't been developing anyone (I haven't read of much effort going into Tucker and DJ other than sending them to the D-League). We are financially limited from making any (if any) strategic moves. We can't seem to address the actual needs on our team (back-up PG, shooters). All of our eggs seem to be in the basket of this season or perhaps the next, and we seem to be a more dysfunctional team than we have been the last three years.

The past few years we've done nothing right but everything wrong. We wanted a big guy like KT to play next to Amare...then we didn't want him...then we used two picks to unload him...total of 3 picks to unload Q's contract. We used to keep our draft picks and develop them, then the talent we wanted didn't pan out so we just brilliantly stopped keeping our picks all together.

We wanted to keep Joe Johnson then we couldn't/didn't...we made what we thought was a good trade to get rid of him but then maybe we just got fooled again with a declining Boris and and declining draft pick position. We steal a guy like James Jones who can shoot the lights out (allegedly) and put him into a system he should thrive in and he flounders miserably trying to find his game. So we pay Portland ANOTHER draft pick to take him from us then of course he starts shooting 50% or something stupid from three.

Thought our owner Sarver was cheap by not paying JoeJ what he wanted during the 03-04 offseason, but then he signed Banks, Boris and LB, but then there was the draft pick fire sale. Then he gave away our only player who could guard Duncan, along for 2 first rounders. But then he says he still wants to win it all...so what is it, Sarver? are you cheap or are you a champion or you are just stupid?

This team has lost me in the direction when they traded KT and signed Marks. I don't know what we're going to do or what we should do right now. Right now, I'd say wait it out...we can't rebuild, we don't have draft picks. We keep everyone, and keep Mike, try to win as many regular season games as possible and get bounced in the 1st round. At least we are entertaining, competitive, and keep people on their seats. Whatever.

Sad part is we would have been the team to beat in the west had we been smart enough to grab Artest. If you haven't noticed yet, Sarver is a business man first as well as a phony. Sure he sits courtside with his foam finger as his Howdy Dude face lights up red as if it's a beacon for bad calls ............ but it's just an act. At the end of the day, the dollar is what's most important to him. Honestly, I'm of the mind that Sarver's main angle on the Shaq trade was how much merchandising coin that was going to bring to the team. The results were second, which is naive given that you can have the rug ripped out from under you real quickly in this league.

He reminds me of the kind of boss who lays off people because it's cutting into profits, then he expects similar or better production out of the depleted staff. He just doesn't get it. As an owner, you have the responsibility of putting the BEST team out there on the court. Obviously you can't be ridiculous with the spending, but we're a major market team.

As much as a guy like Cuban annoys me, at least his pride is on the line with how the team plays. He's not looking at the Mavs as his number one business venture and he's willing to spend regardless of result.

You just don't know when you'll be this close again, if ever. When you're THIS close to a trophy, it is NOT the time to become a frigging bean counter. It's been nearly 40 frigging years and there's no title banners yet - the Suns team of last year had the best chance of getting one and he pull back to half-speed while we were on our way. Strike while the iron is hot, that's all I'm gonna say...

The reason the suns lost the last 3 games is bad execution on DEFENSE and 0 adjustments. Shawn is gone get over it. the suns have the players even with him gone to win it all. Maybe it's because i'm a Spurs fan and Peter Holt is just as cheap as Sarver. I mean, Holt doesn't want to go over the tax. Smart GMs like dumars and buford has spend money on the right players and not overpaying. You look at Cuban and in his early days he was spending left and right signing raef lafrentz to 10 mils and having a 10+ mil bench player and stuff like that but he cuts it down. he's starting to realize too IMO that if he was being that generous, players will/can take advantage of his GM and that hurts the team's finance.

I'd say i blame the previous management for not taking care of the team's finance properly so that they had to trade Kurt away while sending multiple picks.

and y'all have more than enough pieces to beat san antonio, but ur squad just doesn't play smart.

y'all have the most unguardable player in the series (amare) but u try going to diaw isolations when y'all need baskets.

on defense, why not have shaq and amare zone up on their opposing big men so that whenever a spur big man goes for the pick and roll, just have amare be the one that follows while shaq stays back wit the other big.. and, of course, have amare show on the pick and roll for a good hard trap before running back to his own spur big.

if they want to hack a shaq, then while shaq is at the free throw line, get ur own goon player in there to come in and hack a bruce bowen if he's in the game.

It worked in Game 1 but they went away from him in the 2nd half and totally threw his game off. Game 2 same, we went to him a bit to start the game, then we didn't go to him again until late at the 4th and he missed all his attempts. Boris is a passive player, we just got to go to him more and let it be known that we NEED him, then he'll show up.
